Linda Arsenio: A new bollywood Beauty from America

An American actress,Linda Arsenio, has recently made her first entry movie in Bollywood named ‘Kabul Express’, a movie based on a story reflecting the post 9/11 situation of Afghanistan. Linda is a Texas based actress who has some experiences of acting in her country. She worked in theater in New York. For this movie this actress is now one of the most talked persons in bollywood.

Though Kabul Express is her first movie in bollywood, it does not mean that Linda is new in Indian films. She has already acted in Tamil and Telgu films including "Sachein", "Kana Kandein,” "Bhadra" (Telugu), Thoti Jaya" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (Hindi). She is currently residing in Chennai and now wants to settle down in Mumbai to continue in Bollywood after seeing the success of Kabul Express.

As a women Linda is very easy going person. This hard working actress worked in Afghanistan in some crucial situation while the shooting of Kabul Express was going on. She had to work in Afghanistan being surrounded by 60 men as there was a high risk of any accident. The director Kabir Khan was threatened by the Taliban to left the country otherwise they would be suicidal bomb blasted. In such a hectic situation it was only courage which let this American to carry on her business. Another important information regarding this film is that Linda is the only female character of the movie.

However, Linda is very much excited with the film where she played the role of an American Photojournalists. She along with other four persons was in a journey in Afghanistan and traveling by a Toyota jeep. In the movie this American photojournalists tries to find out the insight news of Taliban and two journalists from India were also interested to take interview of a Taliban.

In this movie a micro environment of post 9/11 Afghanistan was clearly figured out. The movie was directed by Kabir Kan, who has made several documentaries in Afghanistan after the 9/11 and destruction in the country. Regarding the movie Linda said:

"Kabul Express is one of the films which will be always close to my heart," says Arsenio. "I got a chance to travel to Afghanistan -- that is a very rare opportunity for any actress. I have many fond memories of the film and I will always cherish this wonderful time I shared with the entire unit of Kabul Express.”

“It was exciting to shoot in a volatile region like Afghanistan with 60 men around you”

Regarding the co-stars of this movie Linda has some positive feelings and ideas as she said:

It was in fact a journey for all the five of us. The diversity added to the chemistry. While Hanif Hum Ghum, an Afghan, is truly a man with a heart of gold, Salman Shahid, who hails from Pakistan is a very distinguished man. John Abraham and Arshad Warsi are typical Indian men, blessed with sense and sensibility.

So, after such a successful movie, it is very simple to continue in bollywood what this young actress is going to do.

Another point that I think is much more important not only for an actress but also for a human being. Linda Arsenio has already been involved in some kinds of philanthropic activities. Last year she watched a movie with 50 girls who have lost their parents. These girls came from Tripura Foundation where they have given shelter. While talking about these children she commemorated her own child life as she lost her father at a very early age of her life. Then she said about her hope:

“My dream was to come to India and serve these children. When I got an opportunity to act in films, I waited to do something for the unfortunate children. I am very much moved by the love and support of the people here and also the affection that is showered on me by the Indian people. What best I can do I am doing for children."

Linda Arsenio is now going to settle in Bollywood which is good news for Bollywood fans. Besides, it is also expected that this kind of philanthropic activities she will continue which is really a praiseworthy job. There are many stars in bollywood but there are not too many stars who are involved in social work as Linda is. I think having seen this activity of Linda, other stars will also come up with this kind of philanthropic activities in order to help the needy and deprived people of the society.
