Bollywood Film: Review of Jaan-E-Mann

Jaan-E-Mann was release on the Diwali and Eid holidays. Lots of people enjoyed during the festival time. The movie was directed by Shirish Kunder and the producer is Sajid Nadiadwala. Sajid has produced many blockbuster films in Bollywood in the past. Sajid also produced ‘Mujshe Shaadi Karogi’, where Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar actedovie was a super hit some time ago. After the movie, Salman and Akshay got back together in Jaan-E-Mann. The movie had a huge budget (nearly 350 million Rs). In Jaan-E-Mann, Preity Zinta, Anupam Kher, Soni Razdan- also acted.

The story of Jaan-E-Mann is about a love triangle. Two young boys love the same girl. Salman Khan plays the part of Suhaan Kapoor, Akshay Kumar as Agastya Rao and Preity Zinta as Piya Goyal. Suhaan (Salman Khan) is a extrovert person. He has a dream that someday he would become a superstar. Piya (Preity Zinta) is a simple, beautiful and charming girl. She loves Suhaan. Piya comes from a rich family. Agastya is an introvert type of person and he does not feel comfortable to talk to any girl. So, he does not express his love for Piya in college.

Suhaan and Piya run away and get married. However, their marriage life becomes unhappy soon as Suhaan is too much eager to become a superstar. He feels that his marriage is a negative thing for him and he hid it from the media that he was married. Naturally, this thing upset Priya and Priya sent a court notice about divorce. Then 10 years passed and Piya is in America. Agastya goes to America and then he helps Piya to meet her old love Suhaan.

The movie is just like many other Bollywood movies and the same love story. I guess Salman fans were very happy to watch this movie. I do not know why Salman Khan does not become selective about movies. He is not a poor man. He is becoming old and after few years, no director will ask him to become the hero of a Bollywood film. Jaan-E-Mann is a movie he should not have acted. Instead, from now he should focus on acting in good movies that people will remember him after he finishes his acting career.

Yesterday, I was watching Mayne Pyar Kia and I remembered that Salman Khan became a craze for young men and women with this movie nearly 17 years ago.
