Sequael Movies to be Continued Making Success Stories?

There has been a new trend of sequel movies in Bollywood. Last year, all the three sequel movies went through a huge substantial success both in India and abroad. All the three movies including ‘Krrish’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ and the recent blockbuster ‘Dhoom 2’ have seen much success than their first part. Dhoom 2 is still in the top chart in its seventh weekend. So, there is no doubt that sequel movies dominated the Bollywood last year. Now, it is a big question whether this winning streak of sequel movies will be continued in 2007 as well. It is better to say that only Time can give the best answer.

However, having seen the list of movies to be released in 2007, especially in the first quarter of the year, there is no chance for sequel movies. In the first quarter, there is a huge chance for Mani Ratnam’s ‘Guru’, ‘Saalam-E-Ishq’ of Nikhil Advani and ‘Eklavya: The Royal Guard’ direted by Vidhu Vinod Chppra in the first quarter of the year. Though ‘Sarkar 2’, expected to be the first sequel movie of the year, is thought to be released in March, there is a question mark on its released in March as that time ICC Cricket World Cup will be going on and barely any movie will be released that time in Bollywood. So, it is clear that the first quarter of this year will not be of any Sequel movie. Besides ‘Sarkar 2’, there is another sequel movie expected to be released is ‘No Entry 2’, a sequel of Blockbuster movie ‘No Entry’.

So, it is seen that sequel movies may not be able to continue their success in this year. However, it depends on audience who will give the final verdict.
