Salaam E Ishq where Love is Evil

Salaam-e-ishq, the upcoming Bollywood movie, has already come into lime light with its unconventional love story where the life of six loving pairs from different class, environment will be appeared and a pool of Bollywood stars will be seen playing in these roles of loving pairs. Here, it is noteworthy that, it will be the second movie of director Nikhil Advani after his first super hit Kal Ho Naa Ho produced by Karan Johar. Salaam E Ishq will involve Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Govinda, Jhon Abraham, Vidya Balan, Ayesha Takia, Ishaa Koppikar, Akshaye Khanna, Sohail Khan, Shannon Esra, Anjana Sukhani. Regarding his much awaited movie, Nikhil Advani said that it is based on some love stories and love will be seen as a problem in the movie Salaam E Ishq. From a DNA India report I am quoting some of his speech:

Since there are six couples and six romances it was like shooting six different films

My film is formatted like ‘Love Actually’. But the individual tracks are very different—unless you count the fact that Anil Kapoor is going through a mid-life crisis just like one of the characters in that film. But yes, I was inspired into making ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ after watching ‘Love Actually’ just like the editing of my first film ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ was like ‘Sidewalks Of New York’ and ‘Sex and the City’,”

“The two themes in ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ are infatuation and obsession. It doesn’t have a social message nor does it go into deep issues. Love is a problem in my film.

The number by Beatles—‘All you need is love, love is all you need’ is my theme.”
As is known, the film’s title is inspired by the chartbusting mujra ‘Salaam-e-ishq meri jaan’ (‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar’)

“It’s my wife’s favourite song. This is as much an ode to love as to my wife. When she jokingly suggested it, I immediately registered the title,” Nikhil reveals.

So which is his favourite pair in the film? “Anil (Kapoor) and Juhi (Chawla) are so wonderful to watch. I really enjoyed working with them. I enjoyed directing Govinda the most. He’s a phenomenon. My film will put him back on the map. The stars are not stars, but characters in my film.

The movie was shot for 131 days to complete and he has gone through a hard time as it was really hard to manage six couples in the same movie. Though there are many stars in the movie, it is quality which will be the matter in getting hit at the box office. However, as the movie has already created much hymn in the industry then the director can easily be hopeful with his second assignment.
