Deepika Padukone Replaces Priyanka Chopra for Pepsi Contract

There is report out that Priyanka Chopra has been replaced by Bollywood’s latest craze Deepika Padukone as the brand ambassador of beverage company Pepsi. The former miss world Priyanka signed on a two-year deal with Pepsi. The contract has come to an end recently and Pepsi has been interested to Deepika Padukone in stead of renewing the contract with Priyanka Chopra.

Pepsi has recently made its 2008 campaign public. The new campaign ‘Yeh hai Youngistaan Meri Jaan’ carries the objective of the company to position Pepsi as a brand of youth. Deepika Padukone along with her love bird Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan are expected to work together in order to promote the campaign this year.

The Hindu Business Line reported:

Priyanka had featured in a television commercial with Kareena Kapoor, which was directed by Farah Khan. When contacted Pepsi officials refused to comment on the matter. However, in an earlier interview with PTI PepsiCo India Executive Vice-President, M arketing (Cola), Sandeep Singh Arora had said, "from time to time we review the list of stars and depending on situation and who we think is right, we pick and choose.''

Priyanka Chopra may be a bit depressed with what Pepsi did with her, but she has no other option open except to accept the significant presence of the youngster Deepika Padukone. Along with her boy friend Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika could be the best couple a company would find for promoting its campaign. So, it seems that this is the time of Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor to rock the industry until another new craze appears in the tinsel town.
