Bollywood’s legendary figure, Amitabh Bachchan is going to appear in a significant role in the next film of Vivek Sharma, Bhootnath. The movie also features Juhi Chawla, child actor Aman Siddiqui. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in a special appearance in the movie. The movie revolved around a child Banku, who has an ill-tempered grandfather, Kailashnath.
Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of the grandfather, while Juhi Chawla plays as the widow mother of the boy. Shah Rukh Khan plays as the father of the boy in the movie. The character of the grandfather is indirectly referred as the Bhootnath in the film. The main theme of the movie is the child’s love that helps to turn the enmity into friendship. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan talked about the movie to the journalists. Being asked if he had problem with Shah Rukh Khan, the veteran actor said that he had had no bad relationship with Shah Rukh Khan and the animosity was created by media, terming Shah Rukh Khan as a friend.
DNA India reported:
Bachchan showered praise on Aman for his histrionic abilities. He said the boy was, in fact, the star of the movie and that he merely played a character called Kailashnath, who is endearingly referred to as Bhootnath in the movie. While referring to SRK, Bachchan denied any "bad vibes" between them. They have a few scenes together in the movie. "It is a media-created animosity. He is a friend," Bachchan said.
Written and directed by Vivek Sharma, music for "Bhootnath" has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar and the lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar.
The movie is set for release on 9 May 2008. The script is written by director himself and the music has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar and the lyrics have been written by Javed Akhtar. The movie reminds me of last year’s hit Tare Zameen Par, the first movie under the direction of Aamir Khan. A child actor Darsheel Safary played the central role in the movie and for the role Darsheel Safary received Filmfare Award. Now, Bhootnath also seems to be revolved around a child role, played by Aman Siddiqui. Now, let us see if Aman could bring out similar success for Bhootnath that Darsheel did.
