Last year, ahead of the release of Saawariya, Sonam Kapoor hit the newspaper headlines frequently. Her debut film Saawariya could not live up to the expectation in terms of its box office success, though the movie was critically acclaimed. Before the release of Saawariya, Sonam was thought to be the biggest competitor of another youngster Deepika Padukone. However, at this moment, lots of things seem to have been changed and Sonam is not that much focused in the industry now.
It is not that Sonam Kapoor’s performance in Saawariya was not well enough to consider her as one of the emerging star of the tinsel town. It seems that she is not that much lucky that a star needs to be flourished fully. Her co-star in Saawariya, Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Debut Male award in this year’s Filmfare award, while the Female best Debut Award went to Deepika Padukone. Both Ranbir and Deepika are now getting lots of offers from high profile directors and big production houses.
Sonam Kapoor has recently signed for Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra’s upcoming project
One India reported:
The Bitch's source informs, "It was very difficult to continue with the shoot, owing to this sudden departure of the first AD. Once, while a very important scene of the film was being canned, there was no one to give Sonam her dialogues. And the shot was finalized without Sonam even saying her lines, can you imagine? Rakesh only realized this later and when Sonam was queried about the same, she simply said that nobody gave them to her."
So, it seems that Sonam Kapoor’s seemingly bright career is being faded. Reports have it that Sonam has been offered to star Anurag Basu’s next project opposite Hrithik Roshan, but she has turned it down because the role offered to her requires to become very sexy. However, Anurag Basu and producer Rakesh Roshan denied it. Whatever it is, the main thing is that Sonam Kapoor is yet to start getting offers from the big production houses in Bollywood.
