There is report out that Saawariya star Sonam Kapoor has turned down a role offered to her opposite superstar Hrithik Roshan in a movie named Kites. Producer Rakesh Roshan has recently denied offering the role to Sonam Kapoor saying that the female lead of the movie required knowing Latin, for which he felt it was unnecessary to offer an Indian actress. Rakesh Roshan would give the movie to Gangster famed Anurag Basu to direct the movie.

Is it true that you had approached Sonam Kapoor for the lead opposite Hrithik Roshan in your forthcoming production Kites?
A: No, it is not true that we approached Sonam for the role. All the rumours that she turned it down are rubbish. I wanted a girl who speaks Spanish, so there was no question of even asking any Indian heroine.
Brazilian model Barbara Mori would be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan in the movie. According to report, Sonam Kapoor turned down the role because it required a sexy image what she was not interested to do. Sonam Kapoor is just a one movie actress still now. So, it was a bold decision if she really denied the role. It seems Sonam knows very well what she wants to do in front of camera.
