Vidya Balan: Childhood, Student Life and Family

Vidya Balan was born on January 1, 1982 in Palakkad, Kerala, India. However, Vidya spent most of her childhood and student life in Mumbai. First, she joined St. Xavier's College, Bombay and then she completed her Sociology degree at the University of Mumbai. She can speak in Tamil, English, Hindi, Malayalam and Bengali.

Her father is P.R. Balan who is the vice president of ETC Channel. VIdya’s mother is a housewife and her elder sister is Priya Balan. Vidya is a Hindu by religion. She believes in God and everyday visits temple. She loves to hear Indian Classical Music and her favorite singers are Shivkumar Sharma and Hariprasad Chaurasia to Shubha Mudgal and Kishori Amonkar.
