Priyadarshan’s ‘Friendship’ to be Released This Month

By: Biplob Kishore Deb

Famous director Priyadarshan’s next movie Friendship is going to be released this month. Though you may think that it is a new movie, but the truth is that this movie was completed about six years ago. It will be a remake of Bindhast, a successful Marathi hit film. The reason of this delay remains unknown. I ma quoting some lines regarding this news from a Indiafm report:

“It is my most well executed film. It is not a comedy but a thriller. I have simultaneously shot it in four languages- Malyalam, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi”, said Priyadarshan. This was the time when Priyadarshan was on a high post the success of his film Hera Pheri.

On questioning him about the delay he said, “The Tamil version released six years ago but the producer is the best person to tell you the reason for the delay.” The producer was not reachable.

He went on to add, “Basically when a film is interesting, it will run no matter how much it is delayed. I’m an optimist and I’m sure this film will pick up by word of mouth.”

The film comprises of an all female cast starring Tabu, Jyothika, Sharbani Mukherjee, Ishita Arun, Mita Vasisht, and Dipti Bhatnagar.

It would create an additional attraction among the people as the movie was made six years before which will be a good side for the movie. However, it is also true that the time six years before was different from the time you are passing, so it is also possible for this movie to make a minimal hit at the box office. Let’s see what happen to the fate of this movie as well as Priyadarshan.
