Gangstar Famed Actress Kangana Ranaut Threatened by Her Sister’s Lover

Actress Kangana Ranaut, actress of Gangstar, has been threatened to her life from her sister Rangoli’s lover Sharma. She has been threatening for the last month through phone call and SMS. Here it is noteworthy that her sister has already been a victim of acid throwing by Sharma and his friend Prem Singh. For the recent threat, Kangana has filed a case in the local police station and Sharma and Prem Singh have been arrested but Sharma has got bail. Zee News reported:

"Deputy Commisisoner of Police V K Choubey said, "a complaint was filed at Versova police station yesterday and we are investigating the matter."

Police here have written a letter to their counterparts in Uttarakhand, informing the latter about the alleged threats to Kangana, who lives in the metropolis.

In Dehra Dun, Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Gunjiyal said Avinash Sharma, on whose alleged instructions acid was thrown on Kangana`s sister Rangoli last year, has been "ringing up" the actress on her mobile phone and "threatening to throw acid on her face if he failed to marry Rangoli".

Allegedly acting at the behest of Sharma, his friend Prem Singh posed as a courier boy and threw acid on Rangoli`s face in Dehradun on October 5 last year.

"He (Sharma) also tried to meet Kangana personally," Gossain said. Kangana was not available for comment.

Rangoli is reportedly being treated in a hospital in Mumbai for burns sustained in last year`s attack.

Uttarakhand police had arrested Sharma and Singh and a court in Dehradun granted bail to Sharma on November 13. Gunjiyal said police would oppose Sharma`s bail in the district court.”

It seems very bad that a new but promising actress has been threatened and her sister has been a victim of acid throwing. This is the responsibility of the local government to investigate the incident and punish the accused persons. I hope such unfortunate incident will be taken seriously by the government.

Shilpa Sheety to be Millionaire

Shilpa Sheety is now one of the biggest stars in UK as she won the Celebrity Big Brother. It is not only fame but also money coming to her with a great extent. It has been reported that she may get about £ 10 million. Earlier she was racially abused by some of her fellow celebrities in the reality television show which has created much news in both Indian and England. On the other hand, Jade Goody, one of the racist bullies is not going to be ruined after being voted out of the show following the incident of racism. Hellomagazine reported:

The multilingual, 31-year-old from Tamil Nadu is already in talks to star in a BBC comedy by Sanjeev Bhaskar of The Kumars At No 42 fame. Her mum Sunanda reportedly has other plans for her attractive daughter, though, having apparently flown over from India to find Shilpa a suitable husband.

Life isn't quite so peachy for Shilpa's fellow contestant Jade Goody, who first found fame and fortune by appearing in the third Big Brother series. The former dental nurse has been admitted to The Priory clinic suffering from stress. It is understood that seeing boyfriend Jack Tweedy, 19, impersonate her as the housemates recreated the now infamous Oxo cube argument, was the final straw. "She saw a doctor and he advised she needed further treatment," said her spokeswoman.

This is a good time for Shilpa Sheety but it does not mean that she is going to have a good husband following her financial fortune. However, it is yet to see what happen in her personal life as her mother is looking for her husband.

Celebrity Big Brother Competitor Danielle Loosing Her Popularity after the Racist Row

Another celebrity accused of racism row seen in the reality television show Celebrity Big Brother, Danielle Lloyd is now going through a hard time as her popularity has drastically been reduced and her relationship with her boyfriend has been cut up after she had been voted out of the show. Danielle’s mother Jackie is now feared of the future of her daughter. Her mother rejected the accusation of being racist against her daughter. Entertainmentwise reported:

She tells the News Of The World, “Danielle is at the start of her career and facing ruin because of a TV show that she thought was going to be entertaining and fun.

"Everything's been taken away from her as well. It has destroyed the family. I'm regretting she went in.”

However, whilst Jackie says Danielle “has got a lot of questions to answer when she gets out” she has denied her daughter is a racist.

She claims, “She will be distraught but she's got to take responsibility. She's been stupid and naive and she's guilty of that (but) I know she didn't mean any racial connotations when she told Shilpa to go home.

"Danielle's been brought up amongst family friends of all different races. I swear she isn't racist."

Shilpa agrees, saying on the show, “I let Danielle off because she is so young. They (Jade and Jo) made her look bad. You know what really balances it out for Danielle? Her stupidity. She's so innocent."

This is a bad news for a young star to have been lessened her popularity which will definitely be a negative for Danielle’s career. However, I do not know whether she was racist or not but if she is, then she deserves such treatment from the people.

Shilpa Sheety Now Most Favorite in the Celebrity Big Brother

Shilap Sheety is now most favorite to win the Celebrity Big Brother show as two of the contestants involved in the racism row have been voted out of the show. It has been a great opportunity to win the race as she is now the most talked celebrity in both India and England. ITN News reported:

Even India was drawn into the controversy after Shilpa was subjected to alleged racist bullying by fellow contestants including Jade Goody.

Jade sparked allegations of racism by calling her Shilpa Poppadom while her mother Jackiey claimed she could not pronounce the star's name and instead referred to her as "the Indian".

The row prompted a record number of complaints - more than 40,000 - to media watchdog Ofcom.

I think, it is a big chance for this Bollywood star to make a boom in her acting career. This can be a turning point in her career. Let’s see to what extent she can use the chance.

Jo O’Meara and Cleo Voted Out of the Celebrity Big Brother Making Shilpa More Favorite to Win the Show

Bollywood star Shilpa Sheety now becomes more favorite to win the Celebrity Big Brother as one of the contestants, Jo O'Meara, accused of being racist to the Bollywood actress Shilpa Sheety, has recently been evicted from the competition. ITN News reported:

Former S Club 7 singer Jo, who was involved in the race row which saw Jade Goody and her mother bullying Bollywood star Shilpa, had been the favourite to be evicted.

In a twist unknown to the housemates, actress and writer Cleo was also booted out.

In a post-eviction interview with presenter Davina McCall, Jo denied she was racist.

She said: "I didn't never mean it in that way. I'm not a racist. I know that I'm not. I'm not going to deny that Shilpa did aggravate me a lot - you can't click with everybody, you meet. It's not because I'm racist."

It seems that Shilpa is going to be the probable winner of the show. However, it does not mean that jade Goody and Jo O’Meara have lost everything. Both of them are now most talked topic in both India and England. People become more interested to know about them. So, it seems a win-win situation!

Priyanka to be Seen in Double Role in The Movie Love Story 2050

Priyanka Chopra is going to continue her success in Bollywood this year as well. Last year, she was appeared in two blockbuster movies of Bollywood, Krrish and Don. In both the two movies, she was critically acclaimed for her outstanding performance. Now this year one of her first attempts to climb on the mountain, Salaam E Ishq, has already been screened in the cinemas. Priyanka is now shooting for her another interesting movie Love Story 2050 where she will be seen in double role. Indiafm published her recent interview in an article. The article says:

How long will you be in Bikaner and are you wearing the colorful Rajasthani costumes during the shoot?
Abhishek Bachchan and I are here for a month-long schedule of Goldie Behl Drona. It is a fantasy film… like a comic book coming alive. And I am not sporting Rajasthani gear in Drona. The only Rajasthani thing I have done since coming here is visiting Ajmer Sharief.

Last year you were seen in some biggies – Krrish and Don, but it is only this year that your career is getting into a gallop with Salaam-e-Ishq in which you essay the part of an item girl. Have you played the part by instinct or through observation?
I play a girl from a small town with big aspirations but then she ends up getting stuck as an item girl. Director Nikhil Advani had scripted the part very well so it was really easy for me. I have derived lot of portions from several actresses and people I have met. I hope it comes across in the film.

You seem to have hit it off pretty well with Salman Khan, what appeals to you about him as a co-star?
Salman is a fantastic co-star and the hugest star of India. I love the way he lives his life – on his own terms. As a co-star, he takes completely different turns and routes to every scene, he keeps springing surprises at you. You have to be on your toes to keep apace with him. He keeps you creatively challenged and I just love that!

Coming to Rumi Jaffery’s God Tussi Great Ho in which you are paired opposite your challenging hero Salman. You are also sharing the credits with Amitabh Bachchan again after Waqt. What kind of film is that?
It is a funny film and I play a journalist in it. But I don’t have much to do with Mr. Bachchan in the film this time. But Waqt was indeed a big high for me, a huge honour!

Lot is being said about your double role in Harry Baweja’s Love Story 2050, please elaborate.
Presently I am not at liberty to divulge much about the film except that it is a futuristic sci-fi set in 2050. From the rushes I have seen so far, all I can say it is really exciting looking. It will be the first of it’s kind.

Priyanka showed her maturity answering the next question.

Going by your career-graph, soothsayers of the industry have already tipped you as the next numero uno – a position you always aspired for?
Hey, not so soon! Not so fast, please! I Joined films in 2003, I am barely four years old in the industry. I am not a trained actor, I have learnt and acquired acting skills by trial and errors. All I aspire for is that filmmakers will give me good opportunities to showcase my craft.

It seems that Priyanka is in the right track at the moment in order to be a top actress in Bollywood. She wants to learn first then will go for fame. It is nice and smart thinking. Good luck Priyanka!

Abhishek and Aishwarya Marriage Coming Soon?

The much waited marriage ceremony is now, for sure, of Abhishek and Aishwarya’s marriage which has created the attention of international level beyond the Bollywood. Now the million dollar question is that when the couple will get married. Though there is no specific answer but there is a rumor that the occasion will be held by March. Recently the couple has been engaged and became the topic of hot news in this year. Channulal Mishra, a classical singer from Varansi, said that he has been invited in the ceremony on the occasion of their marriage to perform. A Santabanta reported:

Amithabh Bachchan said that he wanted to organise a programme on the occasion of the wedding of Abhishek and Aishwarya. He said the date for the wedding was not fixed, but I have come to know that it will be sometime in March," Mishra said.

Families of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai on Monday said that both had got engaged at a private ceremony. Abhishek reportedly placed a diamond ring on Aishwarya's finger.

Speculation of a formal link gained ground after both families visited several temples to pray for them, as their stars were reportedly not in harmony.

Reports of an impending marriage were earlier fuelled after Ajitabh Bachchan, the younger brother of Amitabh, who met a Bangalore based astrologer Chandrashekhar Swami, to see if the couple's horoscopes matched.

The planets also seem to be blessing the couple. They were declared to be perfect by matched by the astrologer.

It is really the most talked issue in Bollywood at the moment. People are eagerly waiting for the date of their marriage. Who knows, when the two super stars will be got married. Only time can answer it.

Shilpa Sheety Gets Supports from Directors

Shilpa Shetty is still getting supports from people of different class and occupassion. Recently, threepopular directors of Bollywood have recently joined in the list expressing their views over the racism issue in the popular television show Celebrity Big Brother in UK. A Glamsham report quoted the speech of these three directors.

I don’t think Shilpa Shetty is passé any more. Her participation and presence on the international show has been very effective in bringing out an issue that has been so often placed under the cover. My respect for her as a woman of caliber and substance has definitely increased, so has my entire perception of her as a person. I have now begun to see her as a great combination of beauty and brains. Besides she’s been looking fabulous on the show,” says filmmaker Suneel Darshan, who had worked with the actress in JAANWAR. Suneel feels that her popularity on the show will definitely translate into endorsements and films that are likely to come her way. “It has given a big boost to her image, no doubt,” he says.

Director Madhur Bhandarkar echoes Suneel’s point of view. “The kind of opposition and problem that Shilpa encountered does happen on reality shows because there’s pent up anger and a sense of one-upmanship. Moreover, it has become a fashion to use abusive language against Indians but the way she tackled the situation speaks a lot of her intelligence. Her image as an actress and the way she is perceived has definitely changed. I am definitely impressed with her,” he says

Director Tanuja Chandra on the other hand is amused by the kind of attention and noise that has been made over the whole issue but she too agrees that Shilpa stands to benefit immensely from the show. “I don’t think the issue demanded so much attention as to necessitate the intervention of big political personalities like Tony Blair but the attention that Shilpa has got out of the show has certainly served the purpose of her participating in it. She should now aim to win the game as far as possible. One thing is for sure, it will certainly not take away from her popularity, on the contrary it has only added to her career prospects. This was the right step at the right time in her career,” she says.

Shilpa Sheety seems reaching at the peak of the mountain with her talent and beauty seen the Celebrity Big Brother show. She tackled the situation of being racially abused by some of the other celebrities in the show. Now, Shilpa is the hot topic in both India and England. What More She could wish!

Filmfare’s Top Ten List of Powerful Figures in Bollywood for 2006

America’s Local fanzine Filmfare have recently published a list of ten powerful names where Yash Chopra is regarded as the most powerful and influential person in Bollywood in the last year. It is undoubtedly true that most of the super hit movies of 2006 was either produced or distributed or both by the most popular production house, Yash Raj Films, owned by famous personality Yash Chopra. The list also involves the Kins Khan named Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, legend Amitabh Bachchan. Among the directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar have been placed at the list. Rani Mukherjee is the only actress who is included in the list. Money Control reported:

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, stays at the No 3 spot, while in the women department, only Rani Mukherji manages to get some female power into the top ten on the list.

When Bollywood's bigwigs were asked who they felt deserved to be at the top spot this year, their replies almost sounded like a chorus.

"Brand Yashraj - what they have done to Indian cinema is fantastic. They have contributed to the exhibition, distribution, music, production: on every level this year, they have gone out there and proven themselves,” said filmmaker Karan Johar.

"Yash Chopra," chirped Rani Mukherji.

"Yashraj - They are in every field of filmmaking. They have covered every aspect of it: production, direction, financing and all,” said filmmaker Kunal Kohli.”

Yash Chopra was, for sure, the most powerful figure in Bollywood last year. Dhoom 2 and Faana, the two super hit movies of 2006 was produced and distributed by Yash Raj Films. Besides, Krrish, one of the most successful movies of Bollywood, was distributed by Yash Raj Films. So, it is very clear that Yash Raj was the super star in Bollywood last year.

A Class Actors and Actresses not Interested to Take Part in Movies Based on HIV/AIDS

Funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, four short movies on HIV/AIDS are going to be made in India and set to be released with the blockbuster movies. Each of the movies will be of 15 minutes and will be shown just before a blockbuster movie to be released. Four famous directors of India have been assigned in this regard. Mira Nair, Santosh Sivan, Farhan Akthar and Vishal Bhardwaj are the four directors who are going to make movies on HIV/AIDS. The objective of this movie project is to increase awareness regarding the disease among the general people. I am quoting Mira Nair from a Reuters report:

"The idea is to piggyback on blockbusters to spread AIDS awareness," Nair said at a news conference in a country that has the world's largest population living with the deadly virus.

"We want to use cinema (against AIDS) so that it holds a mirror to the world and gets under your skin."

However, getting A class actors or actress for these movies has been a great difficulty as many actors and actresses are not interested to be involved in such movies being feared of loosing their image. The report stated:

Nair, who is making one of the 12-minute films which will be titled "Migration", said she had been unable to get A-list Bollywood actors to feature in the films on AIDS.

"Lots of stars don't want to be associated with the virus," the feisty director said, adding: "Some live and don't learn."

"We do not want to preach but entertain. Once you start preaching and teaching, people get bored," Bhardwaj said.

The directors are hoping the movies will be released in cinemas within a few months, and Nair said the initial response from distributors had been positive.

Two of the short movies would be in Hindi while the other two would be in south Indian languages like Tamil, a press statement about the AIDS Jaggo (Wake up to AIDS) initiative said.

According to UNAIDS, India has 5.7 million people living with HIV/AIDS and stigma and prejudice is widespread.

Many people, including some federal lawmakers, believe that a person can get HIV by shaking hands with an infected person, surveys have shown.

Though there were some movies in Bollywood made on HIV/AIDS, none of them was box office hit. It is a good initiative for protecting this vital disease from the second most populated country. As India has a huge population, it will be very difficult to control the number of HIV/AIDS patients if once the number goes out of control. So, this is the best time to think about it and take such initiatives to keep the control over the number of HIV/AIDS patients and it is the earnest responsibility of each Indian people to help government in preventing such disease. Here, celebrities should come forward as people can be easily influenced by his or her dream personality. So, from this point of view, each actor and actress should come forward with their generous mentality. If Bill and Melinda Gates, two Americans, can come forward in order to help India, then it is shameful to see that an India are scared of talking part in this great initiative.

Rani is Depressed with the Incident of Varanasi

Rani Mukherjee is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood now. After Suchitra Sen, she is also the biggest female star from Calcutta. With her natural acting ability, she can easily take a place in the mind of audiences where glamour is hardly found. Rani Mukherjee has acted in some of the exceptional movies in the recent years which you can not judge as per its box office success. In the movie Black, she acted against Amitabh Bachchan and last year she was seen in another movie with unconventional story, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Rani is proud of getting such chances in those movies. Indiafm quoted her:

I was completely cut off from Mumbai in New York. It was fun to be on my own. And when I got home-sick I got my parents to visit me over there. When I'm on location abroad I generally like to remain totally cut off. This time my absence seemed glaring because I had a major film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) up for release. Everyone wondered why I wasn't here to promote it."

Far away in NY, Rani really bonded with choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant. "She wasn't just my choreographer there, but also my companion," says Rani emotionally.

Since she hasn't really spoken about her thankless role as the confused wife in KANK Rani speaks up now. "Why is it that a wife must be happy just because her husband is seemingly perfect and happy with her? What if the woman finds love after finding this supposedly perfect husband? A man can find passion outside marriage no matter how attentive his wife is. But a woman doing the same is unacceptable. I think we need to salute Karan Johar for dealing with the very important issue of passion-less marriages in urban settings with such maturity. I'm very proud of being in KANK."

And now she's equally proud of Baabul. "You know, people often talk about the daughter-in-law being equal in status to the daughter. But does anyone actually believe in this? My father-in-law in Baabul, does. I think audiences will get to see all all-new side of me and Amitji after Black and KANK in Baabul.

However, Rani has recently been reported negatively for an unavoidable incident. She was in Varanasi, a holy place for Hindu religion, for shooting purpose. Regarding the incident Indianfm reported:

This was Rani's third film to be shot in the Holy city. "And why the stress? Can you believe it; they're burning my photographs over here in Varanasi. What have I done? I wasn't even aware of what had transpired before I arrived for the press conference. I came to know there was some kind of a scuffle. I came there after shooting, hot and tired and in no mood to answer personal questions. What was so wrong if I said my marriage is my parents' concern? I really feel men get intimidated by women who assert themselves, especially if the woman happens to be Bengali."

Rani's chuckles fill the air. She then sobers down. “I was asked to say sorry for my behaviour at the press conference, which I did. Now they're turning it around to say I didn't say sorry properly. They're saying, 'We're going to break Rani's bangles.' They've even named the film Choodiyan, for God knows what reason. Dada (director Pradeep Sarkar) is hopping mad. 'How dare they behave like this with my little girl?' he was heard saying. The fact is, the people of Varanasi are with us. As for these people who think my sorry isn't good enough, let me tell them I'm a well brought-up girl. If you talk decently with me I'm humble. And for their information, I'm a UP ki beti too. My father is from Jhansi. So there."

I think, the incident happened in its way and Rani should not be blamed for this incident. Sometimes, it becomes very hard for us that a celebrity has the same life as we have. However, the accused guards should not have shown such inhumane activities.

Jade Goody Cannot Find Soil under Her Feet

Jade Goody, one of the tormentors accused of alleged racism to Shilpa Sheety in the reality television show Celebrity Big Brother, has no soil in her feet as her popularity among the people has been drastically reduced after the row on racism. In her last appearance in the show after the news of her eviction came out, she could hardly stop her crying. The Hindu reported:

I look like a complete and utter nasty small person — the sort of person I don't like myself," she said but denied allegations of racism. "I am not a racist and I sincerely, with my hand on my heart, apologise to anyone I have offended out there," she added sounding intensely contrite in a replay of her kiss-and-make-up conversation with Ms. Shetty earlier in the day after it became certain that, come evening, and she would be out.

Her act of contrition was seen as a desperate attempt to save her career after a perfume named after her was removed from shops and she feared losing more sponsors. "I don't know what to do," she said in between sobs.

Jade Goody is reported a villain in the newspapers and people are not likely to support her on the racism issue as many Briton think that this kind of activities can not be of modern Britain.

The report said:

Jade lurches from hero to zero" declared The Times amid a continuing torrent of condemnation of her behaviour towards Ms. Shetty. A poll in The Guardian showed that 55 per cent of the people believed that her conduct was "not typical of modern Britain."

There was also widespread criticism of Channel 4 for standing by and watching as Ms. Shetty was subjected to racist bullying. More than half of those polled said the channel had "engineered the clashes to gain viewing figures.

It is a positive sign that people of Britain have protested against the racism row. However, I think, enough has been talked about on the issue and now it is time to turn the issue out of the window as Shilpa herself has said that it is a result of misunderstanding.

Controversy over Racism being Analyzed in a Hissing Voice Even After Its Formal End

Talking about the row on racism in Celebrity Big Brother has come to an end. Jade Goody, one of tormentor of Shilpa Sheety, has been voted out of the show. The situation has become cool and everything is going on well now. However, has everything gone really or is not there anything roaring? The straight answer is difficult to give but analysis of the incidents and overall review of the matter is still going on in hissing voice. Some are going fully against Jade and other accused participants. I have gone through an article where writer claimed that Shilpa should not have gone to participate to the show and Indians lack of nationalism in them than the Japanese and Chinese. Indicating the Indian movies the writer said that Indian movies are worshiping the western culture. The India Daily reported:

It is important to preserve and be proud of your own culture. Problem with native Indians is that they beg for dollar and euros. They would do anything if they can smell dollars and euros. In Hindi movies, it is now a requirement that 50% of the movies be shot in Western nations so that taste of ‘glamor’ sells in the box office.

Why Shilpa went to UK? Why she has to make a big roar. Why these Bollywood jokers cannot preserve their own culture? Why can India cinema go beyond the medieval age ‘dancing and singing’? Why are girls in Bollywood called item numbers?

The fact is Indians who live in India unlike the Chinese and Japanese have become less nationalistic. They are greedy and like make it quick without sacrificing much.

Shilpa should have thought several times before going to UK. What she went through, every expatriate Indian goes through in the Western nation. But you have to shrewd. Take it in the chin and move on – not make a big hoopla about it.

Well, the writer may have his own perception but, for sure, I do not agree with her totally. It is true that Indian movies are being filmed in western countries taking the themes of many Hollywood movies but, it does not mean that they are copying the Hollywood. Using the special effect in Dhoom 2 can not be accused of copying the technology used in the movie Matrix. Technology has no border and everybody has access to it. Filming a movie in abroad does not mean that the movie is neglecting its own culture. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have recently visited India for shooting a film but, it is baseless to claim that they have lack of nationalism.

However, I support some of the points indicated in the article and first is Item Girl. This insignificant character of a movie has been popular in Bollywood movies and in the name to entertainment this character sometimes gives obscene pictures. In the name of modernism sometimes open kisses are given in Bollywood movies which I think should be eradicated from the industry as it does not go with the Indian culture and tradition.

At last, I would like to say that the racism seen in the show is over and British people have proved that they are against racism as they made Goody out of the show voting against her while Shilpa is still going well in the show. I think any Indian can proud of it and it would be the indication of strong nationalistic attitude of Indian people.

Jade Goody Voted Out of the Celebrity Big Brother Show

Jade Goody has recently been got out from the reality television show Celebrity Big Brother. She has been out of the show by the telephone vote of the people. It has been reported that 82 percent caller provided their choices through the phone. Goody, a popular television star in UK, was accused of involving in a row over the racist activities to her fellow housemate Shilpa Sheety. After the incident, it became the talk of the point both in India and UK. Even the finance minister of Britain, Gordon Brown, has also criticized such activities. Media in both the countries took their position against racism. Even the people of both India and Britain have expressed their co-existence against racism. Along with Jade Goody, there were other two housemate accused of the same activities. I am quoting some lines about this news from a timesofindia report:

Goody, 25, was voted out of the show late on Friday by 82 per cent of callers giving their verdict in a phone vote, following a turbulent week of protests over the alleged racist bullying of Shetty.

Channel 4, the TV station broadcasting the programme, decided in the last minute to bar the public from a post-eviction event.

Goody, a Briton, who together with two other participants had allegedly branded the Indian actress a "dog" and told her "to go back to the slums", had rapidly lost support with the public and media”

It is a matter of great sorrow that racism appeared in a popular television show. However, people of Britain have proved that they are always against racism.

Gordon Brown Calls for showing tolerance to His Countrymen

Gordon Brown, the finance Minister of Britain, has recently called for showing tolerance to his countrymen on the row of racism to Bollywood star Shilpa Sheety. Mr. Brown was visiting a film studio in Mumbai, India where he expressed his words to the people of his country to keep Shilpa in the house giving vote to her. The Sun quoted his speech and here I am giving some lines from that report:

As he visited a Bollywood film studio in Mumbai, he said: “There is a lot of support for Shilpa.

“It is clear we are getting the message across. Britain is a nation of tolerance and fairness.”

And he added: “It is pretty clear how people in this studio would vote if they had to vote.”

“It is pretty clear how people in this studio would vote if they had to vote.”

It seems that Mr. Brown is trying hard to prove Britain’s support to Shilpa which is really a good initiative. However, the concerned authority of the show should take lesson from this incident so that in future they can avoid such criticism. Well, the number of viewers has been increased much after the incident happened and that is why, it is yet to see how much attention the CBB authority will pay to the incident.

Vidya Balan Trying to Get the Taste of Differnt Characters with Differnt Dress up

Vidya Balan has recently revealed that she is interested to act in different types roles in differnt movies and is not interested to be sticked with a character with a particular costume. It has been seen that from the beggining of her career she has been acting different cahracter in different movies. In her first Bollywood movie Parineeta, she was appeared with traditional Sari as her role was of a nineteenth century congervativ Indian girls. She could successfully play the role and for playing the role she was awarded the FIlmfare Best Dedbut Award. In her second movie, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, she is seen as a Radio Jockey and recently in Guru, she is seen as an interesting girl whose life is rounded in awheelchair. Now her upcoming Bollywood movie Salaam E Ishq has already come into focus with its unconventional story and Vidya is expected to be seen in another new role against Jhon Abrahm.

I am quoting some lines from her speech published in a timesofindia report:

I don't want to stay in a comfort zone. After Parineeta people wanted to slot me in sari clad roles. But fortunately my role in Lage Raho... gave me a chance to be different. In Salaam-E-Ishq , I dress up completely differently from the way I do in real life. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy dressing up traditionally. Now I'm getting to do an elaborate costume in Priyadarshan's Chandramukhi and I'm very excited about it.

She even also said that she will not mind playing in a working class role if she is offered to do so. She said:

I've no problems playing a working-class girl. In fact in Raj Kumar Santoshi's Halla Bol I'm again in a working class atmosphere and clothes.

It seems that this one of most promising newcomer of Bollywood is going like a professional actress which is a positive sign for her career. However, I think as she does not lack of quality and talent as an actress, she does not need to survive through on screen kissing which she did in Guru with her fellow actor Madhaban. Vidya Balan's acting skill is enough to make her an established actress in the industry.

Ayesha Takia to Marry Soon

Ayesha Takia has been reported recently that she is going to marry soon. After making much of hymn, Aishwarya and Abhishek has recently declared their engagement and now Ayesha is going to follow them. She is currently involved with her boyfriend Farhan Azmi and there is a rumor that they both are going to marry soon. Ayesha’s upcoming movie Salaam E Ishq directed by Nikhil Advani will be released on the 25th of this month. In the movie she will be appeared against Akshaye Khanna and in the movie they get married. Ayesha had to wear a five kilo bridal dress in shooting. I am quoting some lines from her speech published in a indiatarget report:

When asked, Ayesha jokingly said, “Marriage is almost over. I'm now preparing to go for a sweet trip to honeymoon.”
Actually, Ayesha has shot a wedding scene recently for Nikhil Advani's forthcoming film ‘Salaam-e-Ishq', where she had to wear a five kilo heavy bridal dress.

The taste of real life marriage will definitely be different from the marriage of celluloid. Now, it is yet to see if she go for the taste soon.

Miss England Eleanor Glynn Condemns the Racial Abusing to Shipla Sheety

Miss England Eleanor Glynn has recently criticized the racial abusing of some celebrity contestants of Big Brother show to the talented Bollywood actress Shilpa Sheety. Miss Glynn also said that she has been offered to participate in the same show next time. However, she will think twice to participate in the show if she gets any call from the show authority having seen the insult of Shilpa Sheety. I am quoting her speech regarding the racial abusing of the Big Brother show from a Oxfordmail report:

She said it was a "blessing in disguise" that she had not been selected to join the other housemates and planned to invite Miss Shetty to her 21st birthday party, which would have a Bollywood theme, in March.

Miss Glynn said: "I feel very sorry for Shilpa and I hope she comes to my party.

"I think the comments made towards her are certainly bordering on racist and the problem may be that the other contestants are not intelligent enough to fully under- stand someone else's culture. The programme doesn't present the nation in a very good way and the producers may have to stop the show.

"Shilpa has so much grace and elegance and for some contestants this could really damage their careers.

"If I got the call now from Big Brother I would have to think long and hard about doing it.

"I loved doing the Bollywood dancing exhibition last year and I am talking to some Bollywood film producers next week.

"I think there is definitely a gap in the market for a British girl meeting an Asian guy in one of these films and we'll see what happens."

It is really a good thing that people are condemning the incidents and thus it has been proved that both Indian and British people are against racism. Those celebrities should realize what the mistake they have done.

Gordon Brown Condemns the Racial Abusing of Shilpa Sheety

Shilpa Sheety has been the talk of the point for the couple of days because of her being racial abused by some of her housemate in the Celibrity Big Brother television show. For some of the recent episode of the show, she was apparently targeted by some of other celebrity contestants of the show. I am quoting some lines regarding this news from a Daily India report:

After the spat, housemate Cleo Rocos told Shetty: 'I don't think there's anything racist in it.' Shilpa replied: 'It is, I'm telling you.'

The viewership for Wednesday was over a million more than that recorded for Tuesday night as allegations of racism against Shetty figured high on the agenda of diplomacy between India and Britain and hogged international headlines.

On the reality show, Shilpa has been targeted by some housemates because she is Indian and has been derided for her background and even her cooking.

Big Brother housemates Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara seem to have ganged up against her in the past few days. She has become the subject of snide and biting remarks because of her hauteur and popularity as the heartthrob of millions of Bollywood fans.

Shetty's housemates have often referred to her as 'the Indian', and some have found it difficult to pronounce her name, poked fun at her accent and asked her if she lived in a shack.

On this regard, British finance Minister Gordon Brow, now visiting India, has criticized such attempt of her housemates. Mr. Brown said:

This is unacceptable. Thousands of British people have already condemned it.

Indian finance Minister said P. Chidambaram said:

India and Britain are bound by shared values that support fairness and tolerance. We are against any form of racism or intolerance,

There is no strain on ties between the governments of Britain and India. Nor is there any strain between the people of India and Britain,

We hope that the universal condemnation will bring out a change in behaviour. I am pleased to say British Prime Minister Tony Blair has condemned it,

The only thing is that this show allows bad behaviour to be advertised. It will pass in a lighter vein

Prime Minister of Britain Tony Blair also condemns such racial abusing to Shilpa Sheety. Television show is just for entertainment. Television program is not all in life. However, because of the foolish activities of those celebrities a television show has likely created a problem involving two countries.

Prime Minister of UK to Visit a Indian Film Industry to Ease the Celebrity Big Brother Controversy over Racism

Britain's next likely Prime Minister and present finance minister, Gordon Brown, is going to visit India very soon. The visit was supposed to focus on the India's growing importance in the International economy. However, the recent controversy of racism in the popular television show Celebrity Big Brother has made him to manage sometime for a visit to a film industry of India. To turn a off on the Big Brother controversy, he might visit the studio. I am quoting some line from a scotsmannews report:

The Chancellor had intended to use his first visit to India to highlight the country's growing importance to the global economy.

But the Big Brother controversy ensured that he spent much of the trip engaged in diplomatic firefighting, as he was bombarded with questions from Indian journalists.

With effigies of the show's bosses being burnt on the streets and front page headlines across the country's press, Mr Brown insisted that Britain remained a tolerant country and condemned anything which detracted from that image.

The initiative taken by Mr. Brown may ease the way to resolve such pathetic controversy. However, the authority of the show should take some lesson from this incident so that in future they can make the participants of the show aware about saying anything controversial. I hope the controversy will be resolved as soon as possible.
