Amitabh Bachchan Protests against Attacks on Indian Students in Australia

Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan has refused to take an honorary doctorate degree from Brisbane University, Australia as a protest against attacks on Indian students in Australia. Amitabh Bachchan said that it was impossible for him to accept the degree under the current situation. A series of attacks on Indian students in Australia sparked a huge criticism in India. It was reported that the attack on Indian students were racially encouraged, though Australian police denied the claim.

Well, I think, Amitabh Bachchan has done the right thing by refusing the degree when Indian students are becoming the victim of racism in Australia. Australian government should take necessary steps to keep the situation under control. Otherwise, the diplomatic relationship between two countries could be deteriorated.

Monica Chowdhury, daughter Jagjit Singh and Chitra Singh commits suicide

MonicaChowdhury,daughter of famous ghazal singing couple Chitra Singh and Jagjit Singh committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her Bandra home. News reports say that, the forty nine year old mother of two sons-Armaan and Umer was suffering from severe depression due to her failed marriage. According to police reports, on May 28, 2009, Chitra Singh talked with her daughter at night. The next day, Monica Chowdhury’s elder son, Umer found her mother hanging from the ceiling. Monica Chowdhury did not leave any suicide note. So, the actual reason behind the suicide could not be discovered. However, it is said that the mother of two had been suffering from depression due to her failed marriages. Monica Chowdhury first married Bollywood cinematographer, Jehangir Chaudhury. The couple had two sons and they divored in 2005. This was followed by another marriage with a British citizen, Mark Atkins. This is a very shocking news for both Jagjit Singh and Chitra Singh. In 1990, the couple lost their son, Vivek died in a car accident. Now, their only daughter just passed away.

Anupam Kher to Work with Director Woody Allen in Hollywood Film

Hollywood director Woody Allen has signed Bollywood’s veteran actor Anupam Kher for his upcoming project alongside a number of Hollywood and Bollywood actors. Anupam Kher has expressed his delight for being signed by a director Woody Allen. Anupam Kher made his Bollywood debut with critically acclaimed 1984 movie Saaransh and since then he performed in many critically acclaimed movies over the last 25 years. He also worked in English language films like Bend it like Beckham and Lust, Caution. Now, let us see if Anupam Kher can present us another critically acclaimed performance in Woody Allen’s movie.

Big Budget Bollywood Movies Not Coming in June?

You might already know about the current conflict between bollywood producers and multiplex owners over revenue sharing. The industry has suffered a lot over the last couple of months due to the dispute between the two parties. A number of big budget films were slated for released before June 2000, but considering the current condition, it is pretty much certain that no big movie would hit the screen before July.

There are only two movies: Paying Guests and Kal Kissne Dekha- for which promotion is currently going on. However, even these two movies are less likely to get released at the end of June because there is no indication of the dispute being resolved. Some other big movies which were expected to hit the screen in the first half of the year are: Kaminey, New York, Love Aaj Kal, Jashnn, Kambakkth Ishq and Life Partner and Shortkut – The Con Is On.

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif said that he enjoyed working with American R&B singer Akon during IPL 2009 closing ceremony. Katrina Kaif is the brand ambassador of Bangalore Royal Challengers. Regarding their defeat in the tournament final, Katrina Kaif said that one would not get everything in life. She expressed her satisfaction over the performance of Bangalore in the tournament, though she admitted the players were disappointed. Claudia Ciesla thinks Salman Khan is talented

Aishwarya Rai not acting Right about Sonam Kapoor

Aishwarya Rai may be the most beautiful actress in Bollywood today. Her fans are too much eager to promote that she is the most beautiful woman on earth but there is no general acceptance in other countries. It does not discourage her fans and there is no doubt that she is really very beautiful. Aishwarya Rai is a gorgeious and pretty woman and good actress too. However, it seems that she does not have good heart. The thing she has done with Soonam Kapor has caused some unhappiness among Bollywood fans. I was reading some of the media coverages about it. What has happened is that Loreal company recently contracted Sonam Kapoor as for modeling. So, Sonam Kapoor is going to be their new face in modeling to promote their products in India. Until now, it was Aishwarya Rai whose advertisements were seen all the time and she is still endorcing the brand.

In happiness, Sonam Kapoor made a remark that caused too much annoyed feeling in the mind of Aishwarya Rai. Sonam said that she is the new beauty for the young people in India whereas Aishwariya is the symbol of beauty for middle aged or older generation. I think that this is somewhat true because Aishwarya Rai is now more than thirty-five years old and she is gradually becoming old. On the other hand, Sonam Kapoor is among a new bunch of actresses who are going to dominate the industry in the coming year. Aishwarya Rai did not take this remark very lightly and she got very unhappy. There are some reports that she threatened Loreal company in India that if Sonam Kapoor is also invited in France then she would not keep good relationship with the company. Naturally Loreal India became afraid because Aishwarya Rai is their number one face for the Indian TV viewers for many years. It should be ……….. that Sonam Kapoor would walk in red karpet in Cannes film festival but then ask her not to go there. Sonam Kapoor did not say anything about this matter but her manager was very upset and she opened her mouth to the media. Then Loreal India also stated something and it clearly showed that they were somewhat forced to stop Sonam Kapoor for not going to Paris.

In Paris, Sonam Kapoor’s father Anil Kapor was expected to go with her and introduce her to the media. But because Aishwarya Rai became very unhappy and angry this did not happen. I can not understand the problem of Aishwarya because she has got almost everything. She won the title of miss world and then she acted in many Bollywood movies. She also get married in the Bachchan family with Abhishekh Bachchan. So, she should be much higher than Sonam Kapoor in any compaison. In fact, there is no comparison between these two girls and even there is no comparison in their age. So, it is very difficult for me to understand the mentality of Aishwarya Rai about this problem. I think that she should open her mind a bit more and this can help her. In fact, this probem between these two actresses created a lot of sympathy for Sonam Kapoor and created some annoyed feeling about Aishwarya Rai.

Hrithik Roshan is Barbara Mori’s favorite interpreter

In his upcoming movie, Kites, Hrithik Roshan may have played the role of hero but he also played the role of interpreter. Hrithik Roshan’s co-star Barbara Mori, a Mexican actress and model, do not under stand English very well. Anurag Basu directed the movie. Interestingly, when Anurag explained any scene to Barbara Mori she would not understand anything. Barbara then requested Anurag to explain the scene again but this time there is no difference. Finally, Hrithik Roshan goes to the rescue. Though Hrithik Roshan also spoke with her in English but she understood it very well. The main problem is Anurag Basu speaks at a quicker pace which Barbara could not pick up as she does not speak English very well.

Kites, like typical Bollywood movies do not have any song and dance sequence. The movie tells the story of love and betrayal. Though language was a major barrier for Barbara, she worked very seriously for the movie. Hrithik Roshan spoke highly of his co-star.

Now, Claudia Ciesla is doing the same thing. She has already met Salman Khan and Salman Khan is most probably interested about her. So, let us see if she can make the break. Katrina Kaif had one advantage because she was Indian but Claudia Ciesla is form Germany and of Polish decent. Her father is Polish wile her mother is German.

If we look at the past history of Claudia Ciesla then we will see that she is mainly famous in Germany for showing her body and she does not have any good thing about her duty. In face in Germany, I could not find that she has taken acted in any movie or got any award or even as a model. The only thing she could become perhaps was that she became first in Germany super girl 2006. However, there is nothing that you can be proud about her. She started modeling from the age of 15 and she has posed for different kind of pictures. Now, it seems that she is working in the movie in Bollywood.

The funny thing is that until Salman Khan became interested about her, hardly anyone outside of Germany knew about Claudia Ciesla. There has been some fake pictures of her in internet and it became very popular in India but it was fake not real. So, the way I started, I like to say that Salman Khan is a stupid actor and it is time he should leave Bollywood get married and settle in life. He is now 41 years old and after few years he will become 50. He is no longer teenage man or not even young man. He is already a middle aged man and he should learn from other actors like Shah Rukh Khan how to maintain a decent family’s life style even after acting in Bollywood.

Sanjay Dutt Starts Shooting for All The Best

Actor Sanjay Dutt has returned to shooting following a two-month break from shooting due to his ambition to take part in the recently held generation election of India. Though he was not allowed to participate in the election, he became the general secretary of Samajwadi party.

Now, the veteran actor has come back to action and started shooting for the movie All The Best, which is a home production of Ajay Devgan. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie casts Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Mugdha Godse alongside Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay Dutt is currently shooting for a song of the movie in Goa. The director dismissed all the reports claiming Sanjay Dutt deliberately delayed the shooting of the film.

Bollywood Producer-Director Prakash Mehra Died

Bollywood’s famous director and producer Prakash Mehra left his last breath today (17 May 2009) in a hospital where he was hospitalized few days back. He was suffering from pneumonia, and besides this, a number of organ failure was another reason of his death. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was brought into limelight by Prakash Mehra through his box office hit Zanjeer.

The news of his illness came to the media when Amitabh Bachchan visited Prakash Mehra in the hospital couple of weeks back. Mehra and Amitabh brought about some big hits in 1970s and 1980s including Muqaddar Ka Sikander, Laawaris, Namak Halal, Sharabi, Hera Pheri and Zanjeer, but the duo’s last movie Jadugar in 1989 failed in the box office. We pay our tribute to Prakash Mehra and pray for the heavenly peace for his departed soul.

However, the Bollywood beauty has decreased her presence on the big screen since her marriage and most importantly, Aishwarya hardly signed any movie which did not feature her husband Abhishek Bachchan in the last two years. It has been reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is also turning down Hollywood offers on the same ground and signing endorsement deal after ensuring the presence of Abhishek in that project.

Well, I do not know why Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is doing so, but one thing is for sure that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is gradually cutting her on screen presence. Now, let us see if her career gets affected in this way.

Comedy actor Dom DeLuise dies at the age of 75

Famous comedy actor Dom DeLuise died at the age of 75 after a long illness. According to Robert Malcolm, Dom’s agent, the actor died on May 4, 2009, at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica in his sleep. His wife and three sons-- Peter, Michael and David, were present at his death bed. Though the cause of his death has not been revealed, Dom DeLuise has been suffering from illness for a long time. Because of his lover for food, he had to struggle with obesity throughout his life. At one point, his weight reached 147kgs. His family members tried to put him on a diet but he did not agree. Then in 1993, he was required to have a hip surgery but he had to lose 100 pounds (45kg) on doctor’s order.

Dom DeLuise was very successful as a comedy actor. He appeared in movie, TV series, broadway productions and rendered his voice for many cartoon characters. In his lifetime, he worked with many famous actors including Mel Brooks, Burt Reynolds, Dean Martin and Carol Burnett. All of them admired the actor.

Dom DeLuise was born to immigrant Italian parents in New York on August 1, 1933. His father was a garbage collector. Dom DeLuise first acted in a school play at the age of eight and he fell in love with acting. He later graduated from New York’s famous School of Performing Arts in Manhattan.

Shah Rukh Khan to Sell Kolkata Knight Riders?

Reports available in the media suggest that Shah Rukh Khan is planning to sell off his IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders which he bought last year before the inaugural IPL season. Aishwarya Rai: The highest paid actress in the Indian cinema

After marriage, Aishwarya Rai is not seen in many movies but that does not mean that the actress is not working. Currently, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is working with Rajinikanth in Robot aka Endhiran. Rajinikanth is the superstar of South Indian cinema and one of the highest paid actors of the Indian cinema. Interestingly, Robot is one of the most expensive movies ever made in India. The production cost of the movie is a whopping Rs. 1200 million. For playing the female lead in the movie, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was paid Rs.60 million.
