‘Ghajini’ Promo Video Becoming Popular

Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini is set to hit the screens on 25 December 2008. Recently, the theatrical promo of the movie was released and it became popular among the Bollywood fans. Watching Aamir Khan with his bald head with a scar was not something surprising to his fans because all knew that Aamir Khan would continue experiment with his hair style in his upcoming movie Ghajini too.

Ghajini is a Bollywood adaptation of Tamil film Ghajini and is inspired by English language film Memento by Christopher Nolan. Ghajini is the tale of a man who lost his wife and seeks revenge for his wife’s murderer, but the problem is he suffers from a physical problem called “anterograde amnesia,” in which patients suffer from short term memory loss. Once he recovers his memory, he tends to take revenge. Aamir Khan plays the role of the protagonist Sanjay Ramaswamy in the movie, while Asin Thottumkal and Jiah Khan will be seen in the female lead roles. Music by A. R. Rahman and Ravi K. Chandran, the movie seems to be a big hit of the year. Director A. R. Murugadoss is very popular among the Tamil movie fans and Ghajini is his debut film in Bollywood. The cinematography of the movie was done by Ravi K. Chandran.

The duration of the promo is 1 minute and it reflects the core sequences of the movie with Aamir Khan featuring in some sensual romantic songs and in action sequence. The background music gives you the classy touch of A. R. Rahman. I feel, the promo bears a catchy message to the fans about the movie and it is beautifully made.

Kangna Ranaut has No Respect for Commercial Bollywood Cinema

Kangna Ranaut is better known for her movies like ‘Gangster,’ ‘Woh Lamhe’ and ‘Life In A Metro.’ In all the movies, Kangna was seen portraying characters that are involved in complexities of life. Besides, there are many who thought all of those movie fall under the hardcore Bollywood films, but Kangna has always denied it. Recently, she created a splash in the media commenting harshly on commercial Bollywood cinema. She said that she had no respect for the commercial Bollywood films.

Screenindia reported:

While working in aforementioned films, didn't she feel like being a part of a hardcore Bollywood commercial film to at least stay in the reckoning during her relatively leaner period?

"Everybody asks me this. But I never felt like being a part of a hardcore Bollywood commercial film because I have no respect for such cinema", Kangna makes a shocking confession.

She continues, "It is like an immortal work of art. For me my movies are my heart-beat. I cannot do a stupid film in which people laugh while they are watching it. So I have to be very careful".

Well, then the question comes whether ‘Gangster,’ ‘Woh Lamhe’ and ‘Life In A Metro’ were commercial movie or not. Kangna Ranaut might better answer this question. She says that hardcore cinemas hurt her emotionally. Kangna Ranaut hopes that her upcoming film “Fashion” will do very well in the box office. She claimed that movie would bring a change in the mindset of the people about the fashion world.

Bollywood Makes a Deal with British Film Industry

Bollywood has recently signed a deal with British Film Industry and under this deal, the Indian producers will need to pay less tax to work in UK, if they work jointly with British producers. UK film minister Barbara Follett sees it beneficial for both Bollywood as well as UK film industry in this period of global economic recession. Barbara Follett thinks that it would be helpful to be more resilient in this global economic crisis if the base of audience is wider. Bollywood director Vipul Shah, who has recently taken permission to shoot at Trafalgar Square in London for his new film London Dreams, was also present at the launch of the deal.

BBC reported:

Barbara Follett said the UK industry offered "an excellent product" and the deal would help "maintain excellence".

"The wider your base, in an economically difficult time, the more resilient you'll be," she added.

It will also help them to obtain funding from sources such as the National Lottery, Ms Follett said, and help to cut down on the bureaucracy involved in making films.

Civil servants from India and the UK have been working on the treaty for the past three years.

Bollywood director Vipul Shah, whose earlier movie “Singh is King” was a block buster hit around the world, also thinks that this deal will lead many Indian producers to step in the UK to make films for Indian markets. Shah made 2005 hit “Namastey London” in London and received huge appreciation for the movie. He thinks working with the local crews will be helpful for the Indian film makers. It is expected that about 10 Bollywood films will be made in UK in the next couple of years because of this deal.

Shahrukh Khan in Premiere of 'Drona'?

Drona is a movie featuring Abhishek Bachchan. This is an important movie for Abhishek Bachchan because if this movie becomes successful then it will give a boost to his career. On the other hand, if this movie becomes a flop then it will seriously put his acting skill into question. Of course, I do not think Abhishek Bachchan is a bad actor. He is just overshadowed by his father and his wife. However, it is important to see whether Drona becomes a big hit in the box office or not.

I am interested about Drona about another matter. Shah Rukh Khan with his wife was present in the premier of Drona. Last year, we have seen some bitter exchange of comments between Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. At one stage, many people felt that there was a cold war between Shah Rukh Khan and Bachchan family. There were also rumors that Shah Rukh Khan has formed some kind of friendship with the other Khan against the Bachchans. So, it was a surprising matter to see Shah Rukh Khan was present in the premier of Bollywood movie Drona. It shows that whatever he has conflicts with Amitabh Bachchan, he cared to come to the movie of Abhishek Bachchan.

Economic Times wrote:

Shahrukh Khan walked into the premiere with his wife and daughter to put at rest the rumours about his differences with the Bachchan family.

Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan congratulated the makers of the film for its unique presentation and said Bachchan family's expectations about it are high.

Aishwarya Rai is the Familiar Bollywood Actress in Hollywood

I am happy that Bipasha Basu has talked about this matter. Bipasha Basu feels that Aishwarya Rai is the only Bollywood actress known to Hollywood. This matter alone has made for the Bollywood actresses to be very difficult to get any chance in Hollywood movie. Bipasha Basu said that she has tried her luck but no one knows her in Hollywood. In fact, they only know Aishwarya. So, it is very dificult for any actress in Bollywood to get good chance in Hollywood. Well, to be honest with you, I think that actresses like Bipasha Basu do not deserve to be featured in Hollywood. Bipasha Basu is famous for her sex appeal. She is very good at decreasing her cloths in the movies. If you look at her official website then you can understand. She should give more effort on improving her acting skill; rather than being a hot and sexy actress. Bipasha Basu should care to be a better actress; rather than becoming a hot property.

Hindustan Times wrote:

"No filmmakers of Hollywood are willing to sign any Bollywood actor without a screen test apart from Aishwarya. They seem to know no Hindi film actors, not even Amitabh Bachchan," Bipasha told IANS.

"I got a chance to go there, but I found out that I will have start again from scratch like screen tests and other tantrums. They treat you like a newcomer. So I decided to stay in Mumbai and be the 'queen' here," said the actress who was in town to promote Bachna Ae Haseeno.

I was looking some of the pictures at official website of Bipasha Basu and I was siasspointed to see that she cares more for her figure than acting.

Abhishek Bachchan Overshadowed by Aishwarya Rai?

Aishwarya Rai is considered to be the most beautiful women. Of course, there can be debates that whether Aishwarya Rai is, in deed, the most beautiful women in the world or not. However, her fans think that she is the most beautiful Bollywood actress. I would like to debate that thing too, but the number of fans of Aishwarya Rai is too many and I know I can not win over them. New problem, it is important that her husband Abhishek Bachchan thinks the same way like her fans. Recently, in the opening of Bollywood movie Drona, many people felt that Abhishek Bachchan was overshadowed by Aishwarya Rai. Well, the same thing happened in CAN Film Festival too. There many reporters all the times were asking him about his wife Aishwarya Rai. How does Abhishek Bachchan feels?

NDTV wrote:

At this year's Cannes Film Festival attended by him and his wife, Abhishek was repeatedly asked how it felt to be overshadowed by his wife.

"Although the intention behind such questions is obviously not honourable, I don't get rattled at all. It's a pleasure to be overshadowed by the most beautiful woman in the world. I had a ball doing the 'Unforgettable' concerts with Aishwarya," said Abhishek.

After Guru, the actor is teaming up with his wife once again for Mani Ratnam's next film.

Abhishek Bachchan has said to the reporters that he does not feel bad and he does not mind being overshadowed by the most beautiful women in the world. Well, poor Abhishek Bachchan. In most of his life, he was overshadowed by his father Amitabh Bachchan at first, and now it is the time getting overshadowed by his wife Aishwarya Rai.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Vogue Cover

Actually, the title should be Aishwarya Rai in Vogue India Cover. You know that Vogue has started its Indian edition sometimes back. It has attracted a decent number of people who are intersted about fashion and celebrety. I am not one of them and I care for very little about Vogue or anyone who is in Vogue cover. However, many people are crazy for this matter and being in the cover of Vogue is a very attractive thing for any actress anywhere in the world. Being in the cover page of Vogue will give an actress a lot of publicity which they even can not even dream of. Of course, Aishwarya Rai does not need more publicity. She is already famous and popular. So, I think, it is Vogue India who will get some publicity by being able to get Aishwarya Rai in their cover page. If you are a fan of Aishwarya Rai then this is something you must collect. The picture shots were done in London and Aishwarya Rai looks very beautiful in the cover page. You should know that Vogue India has already featured other Bollywood actresses like Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone etc.

Kidnap Doing Better than Drona in England?

In my earlier entry, I have talked about the movie review of Kidnap in rediff.com. I have mentioned that rediff.com did not give a positive review to the movie. It should be a disapointing new for Imran Khan, Minissha Lamba and the director. However, they have something to cheer about. According to Indiaglitz.com, Kidnap is doing better than Drona among the viewers in England. The people in England celebrated Eid yesterday and you know that there are thousands of Muslims in the U.K. Eid is the largest festival for most of them coming from South Asian background. So, the good performance in U.K. should encourage the director and producer of Kidnap. On the other hand, it is not good news for people related to Drona.

Review of Bollywood Movie Kidnap

2008 has perhaps been a disastrous year for Bollywood movie. As per as I can say, there has been no big hits in Bollywood this year. Many people are thinking that October will be the month of change. Today, two movies got released. There are big expectations about Kidnap doing well in the box office. I was reading some reviews about this movie. The review at Rediff.com by Elvis D'Silva did nto promise to be very positive about the film. The reviewer thinks that the promo of the movie Kidnap was a good one and it could create some decent amount of interest among people about this movie. However, he thinks that Kidnap has promised too much and has delivered too little. So, he feels that there was no on-screen chemistry between Imran Khan and Minissha Lamba. This is important in a Bollywood movie. Most people like to see some good chemistry between the actor and the actress. So, this may not be good news for the movie. In fact, the reviewer has been very critical about the movie and has given only two stars and in the end, he has said that you should not watch the movie unless there is nothing for you to do.

Rediff wrote:

There is zero chemistry between Khan and Lamba. They exchange a few glances, he catches himself staring at her cleavage a couple of times and really that's about it. If you can stop laughing at the fact that La Lamba breaks into a bump-n-grind at amazingly inappropriate moments, you might notice that she has quite a vast wardrobe of revealing outfits for a girl, who has been kidnapped. Same goes for her harassed mommy who always seems to find time to arrange her cleavage in such a way that we won't notice what a bad job Ms Malvade is doing of attempting even a single expression.

Well, I think, it is a very harsh review. Imran Khan and Minissha Lamba should be given a chance. This year, there was no big hit and most people perhaps have got disinterested about Bollywood movies. Let us see what kind of reaction Kidnap movie gets from the moviegoers.
