Karthi plays a double role in Siruthai

Karthi is going to play a double role for the first time in his upcoming Tamil action film, Siruthai, which is scheduled to hit the big screen in January 2011. It has been produced by Studio Green.

It is thought to be a special project for the lead actor, Karthi. Now, producers are busy for promoting the film vigorously. They are focusing Karthi’s character as a part of the promotion.

Karthi will be seen playing two roles in his upcoming movie. In one character, he will play the role of a pick pocketer named Rocket Raja, while the other character he will be seen to perform role of an IPS officer named Rathinavel Pandian. The story of this film is about a thief.

oneindia reported: The film revolves around a small time thief in Chennai, who along with his friend Pattu Poochi (Santhanam) are indulged into petty thefts. He becomes completely perplexed, when a small girl claims him to be her dad. Later, he realizes that he has identical looks of Rathinavel, who has been the saviour of innocent villagers of Devipatnam. But his rivals kill him and finally Rocket Raja completes Rathinavel's mission by putting an end to realms of baddies.

Directed by S. S. Rajamouli, Siruthai is a remake film of the Telugu blockbuster Vikramarkudu. Other stars are Tamannaah Bhatia, Santhanam and Baby Rakshana.

Vidhyasagar has composed the music of this film. Na. Muthukumar, Pa. Vijay, Vivega and Arivumathi are four top lyricists who have written songs. Mumbai-based audio company Venus has bought the audio rights of the film.
