Shilpa Shetty Attends in Worship with Her Family

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has recently attended in worship named 'Bhuta Kola' (Worship of Spirits), a common type of worship seen among the Tulu speaking people of some particular areas in India. Shilpa Shetty along with her sister and other family members attended in the worship recently. On this occasion Shilpa Shetty has spent a night experiencing the worship along with her family. DNA India reported:

Shetty, who has visited temples in Udupi district over the past three days, spent Tuesday night witnessing Bhuta Kola with her actress-sister Shamita and other members of her family.

Bhuta Kola is an ancient form of worship among Tulu-speaking people in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka and Kasargod in Kerala.

During the ceremony, a person impersonating the 'Bhuta' behaves like an incarnation of the spirit, listening to and solving the problems of devotees as well as warning and comforting them.

In an informal chat with reporters in Tulu, Shilpa said all preparations to organise the ritual had been completed four months ago, even before she left for London to participate in the reality TV show 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

Shilpa Shetty has recently been the headlines creating a controversy over her on stage kissing with Hollywood actor Richard Gere at a function organized for increasing awareness for HIV/AIDS. The incident has already been in the court and court has sent summons to both the actors asking them to present in the court.

Richard Gere Apologizes for His Kissing to Shilpa Shetty on Public

Hollywood actor Richard Gere has recently apologized to the people of India for his on stage kissing to Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. The incident occurred in an event arranged for increasing awareness against HIV/AIDS. Soon after the public kissing, the whole India protested against it as the incident does not go with Indian culture.

The issue even has already taken in to the court and recently the court of Jaipur issued summons of arrest warrant for both Richard Gere and Shilpa Sheety for breaking obscenity law in India. Having seen such a storm over the incident, Richard Gere has recently apologized for the incident. ABC News reported:

"What is most important to me is that my intentions as an HIV/AIDS advocate be made clear, and that my friends in India understand that it has never been, nor could it ever be, my intention to offend you," Gere said in statement issued by the Heroes Project, an organization the 57-year-old actor co-founded to combat AIDS in India.

"If that has happened, of course it is easy for me to offer a sincere apology," he said.

The embrace, in front of about 4,000 truckers, was a failed parody of a move from Gere's film "Shall We Dance," and "a naive misread of Indian customs," he said.

In Indian culture, open kissing is not allowed and they do not even like to disclose their private affair in public. Richard Gere might not have known about the Indian culture. However, one should have an overall idea regarding the culture of a county before doing anything sensitive in the county.

Saif Ali Khan is not a Fan of Car Racing

'Tara Rum Pum' is a movie about car racing. If I am not wrong then 'Tara Rum Pum' is perhaps the first movie about car racing. Saif Ali Khan plays the lead role in the movie. He is a car racing driver and his life is car racing. He is a family man too. The funny thing is that in real life Saif Ali Khan is not a big racing fan.

ApunKaChoice.Com wrote:

Though Saif enjoyed shooting the movie, the bit he found the toughest was when he actually had to sit in a race car and drive at high speeds.

And once the G forces begin acting on the vehicle, that is when the driver’s mettle is tested.

For the scenes that required driving at really very high speeds, a duplicate was used for security reasons. But for one scene Saif himself was at the wheels, driving the car at 150 miles per hour.

The experience, Saif says, was very physically demanding.

Poor Saif but I am sure that after 5-10 years Saif will look back to his career and feel that he did the smartest thing by working in the movie 'Tara Rum Pum'. It is the first movie in Bollywood about car racing and Saif is the hero. By doing so, has Saif Ali ensured a place in the history of Bollywood Movies?

'Tara Rum Pum' and Rani Mukherjee

Rani Mukherjee is a family girl. She has very close relationship with her family and that is perhaps why Rani has enjoyed doing the film 'Tara Rum Pum' a lot. In this movie, she acts as a loving wife and the mother of two children.

Rani Mukherjee, the 'girl-next-door' of Bollywood, awaits the release of one of her most awaited flicks from Yashraj Films - 'Tara Rum Pum'.

The film to be released the coming Friday, is a story that revolves around the fast and dicey world of car racing and entails tragedy and drama in its weaves. The film is expected to tug at the heartstrings of all lovers and entertain children everywhere hugely with its cute stuffed-toy characters.

'Tara Rum Pum' is a different kind of movie. It is not like other traditional Bollywood Movies. 'Tara Rum Pum' can give a break to Rani’s career too.

Jhanvi Kapoor in the Media

It is still a great mystery why Jhanvi Kapoor tried to spoil the wedding ceremony of Aishwarya and Abhishek. Some people think that it is a publicity stunt and if it really was her goal then she has achieved a tremendous amount of success. The Internet is full of reports about her.

British newspaper Telegraph wrote:

Jhanvi Kapoor was apparently distraught that Bollywood scion Abhishek Bachchan - who was last night due to marry the former Miss World Aishwarya Rai at a private ceremony in Mumbai - had refused to marry her.

In scenes that would have graced any Bollywood melodrama, Miss Kapoor claimed on Indian television that she had had "physical relations" with Bachchan and that he'd reneged on a promise to marry her.

Indian police however dismissed Miss Kapoor's attempts to register a formal case against Bachchan, describing her as a drunk and a depressive who had no evidence to support her claims.

Rediff wrote:

I always told her to bury it since she was a Muslim and her marriage with a Hindu could result in social embarrassment for us," Shaheena said from her uptown residence in Srinagar.

Naina's mother and son live in Srinagar's posh Raj Bagh locality.

Even IHT wrote about the incident:

However, the festivities were marred when a young woman slit her wrists outside the Bachchan home in Mumbai early Friday.

Identifying herself as Jhanvi Kapoor, she said Bachchan had promised to marry her after they met when she was one of the dancers in a promotional music video for a movie "Dus" ("Ten"), in which Bachchan starred two years ago.

"He is not talking to me," she told reporters. "I want to know why he doesn't talk to me."

She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, then arrested by police for attempting to commit suicide — a crime in India.

"This is a stunt," said police officer A. Mohite. "She seemed to have done this purely to catch the attention of the media."

She was later released on bail of 10,000 rupees (US$238, €198).

Rediff wrote in another report:

But even as she claims that Abhishek had married her last year, some residents of Lucknow contend that the girl's name is actually Naina Razvi.

"She is my former daughter-in-law," says Kalbe Sadiq, senior vice president, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, and a top Shia cleric and maulana. "I saw her picture and immediately recalled Naina. She was married to my son, Momin Rizvi, in 1997."

Maulana Sadiq added that initially, his family was opposed to his son's marriage but they relunctantly accepted it later. The marriage did not last beyond 2001.

There is much more about Jhanvi Kapoor in Internet. I just gave you a fraction of what has been written about her until now. Let us see what happens next.

American Idol and 'Nothing but Nets'

'Nothing but Nets' is the message of this week’s American Idol. 'Nothing but Nets' is a humanitarian program to provide nets to the poor people of the third world so that they can fight against mosquitoes. This charity activity will get a lot of exposure in American Idol just after few hours.

Christian Post wrote:

As part of a two-night special “Idol Gives Back” charity fundraising event, the United Methodist-supported anti-malaria initiative will be among the charities featured on the ultra-successful TV singing talent show which reaches about 26 million U.S. viewers each episode and is watched in about 150 other countries, according to the United Methodist News Service.

“It really is this blending of secular and sacred and, as that continues to unfold in exciting ways, it gives us more and more possibilities to prevent a disease that prevents a child from having a long, sustained, fruitful life,” said Bishop Thomas Bickerton, president of United Methodist Commission on Communication, in a statement.

……………………………….

Each vote cast by viewers by text or phone after the Tuesday show will convert to a donation to charities by the corporate sponsors of “Idol” – Ford, Coca-Cola, AT&T and News Corp which owns the Fox TV network, according to Reuters.

That will be a lol of money. I just wish that other TV programs also raise money for this cause. It will help many poor people in the world.

Aishwarya Abhishek wedding: What did Jahnvi Kapoor do?

Jahnvi Kapoor is a famous person in Bollywood. No one knew her before the Aishwarya Abhishek and her name is all over the media. So, what did she do? Times of India has a detailed report about Jahnvi Kapoor and here is an excerpt:

The building society in Lokhandwala where she stayed threw out her belongings on Friday night.

Jhanvi, whose claim to fame is that she appeared as an extra in the title song of 'Dus', had returned home after the 'Prateeksha' drama to be confronted by the residents of Oscar building, where she stayed in a rented flat.

They made it clear that she was not welcome, and after an altercation threw out her stuff. Her deposit was also returned.

…………………………..

Jhanvi was again detained by the Juhu police late on Friday night for trying to approach the Bachchan bungalow.

Jahnvi Kapoor did everything possible to get media attention. She knew that many reporters were in that place to cover the marriage. She was surely successful to make her message heard.
