Cricket and Bollywood are the two most popular means of entertainment in India. Cricket and Bollywood stars have huge fan followings in India. However, it was also seen that cricket stares and Bollywood stars have been happily married in India.

Former Indian captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi married Bollywood’s star actress Sharmila Tagore, another Indian captain Mohamed Azharuddin married Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani and there were many rumors involving cricket stars along with Bollywood stars in the past.

Now, the recent rumor has involved two popular stars of Cricket and Bollywood. Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been reported to have been linked with rising star Deepiak Padukone. However, the recent news out says that they have cut up their relationship as Deepika has fallen with his former love bird Ranbir Kapoor during the shooting of Siddharth Anand’s untitled film. It has been reported that Deepika informed Yuvraj about their break-up through a SMS.

Disney Wants to Get More of UTV Share

Disney is eyeing to grab more market in Bollywood. The Hollywood production house already owns 14.9 percent share of UTV Software Communications, an India-based media group. Now, Disney wants more takeover of UTV that has a wider presence in Bollywood. UTV declared last year that it would sell 12 more percents of its share in order to launch some more channels. The deal is expected to be held next month. UTV owns the largest film studio of Bollywood.

Times Online reported:

A source said: “Change of control is obviously a possibility. There are no safeguards.”

With two other promoters Mr Screwvala controls a total of 36 per cent of the parent company.

A deal is expected next month, but interest in UTV may yet emerge from other parties. Media houses including Viacom and Sony are targeting India.

So, you can understand that the global companies have set their eyes on Bollwood. The overall market of Bollywood is ever increasing. Naturally, many will come to invest in the industry. Now, let us see how the competitors of Disney react on the deal.

Amitabh Bachchan Laid the Foundation of Girls’ College Named after Aishwarya Rai

The foundation of a girls’ college named after Aishwarya Bachchan has been laid by his father-in-law, Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan. Last year, Bachchan’s family friend and Samajwadi Party leader declared to set up a girls’ in Daulatpur. Aishwarya and her hubby Abhishek Bachchan were in the center of attention in the foundation laid program, which was held in the presence actress-turned-politician Jayapradha, Amar Singh, Jaya Bachchan and four former chief ministers.

Aishwarya expressed her extreme happiness with this college, which she said should have been named after her late grandfather-in-law Harivansh Rai Bachchan or wifeTeji Bachchan.

In a brief speech, Aishwarya said "it is a dream come true... My family always wanted to do something for the education of girls".

The Bollywood diva said she was taken by surprise when she came to know that the college was in her name but added it would have been better if it was in the name her late grandfather-in-law & poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan or wife Teji.

“I was however convinced when the elders told me that the place of the bahu (daughter-in-law) in this family is very important," Aishwarya said.

The college will initially provide education up to 12^th class on CBSE pattern. However, it would be extended to degree level later on. Amitabh Bachchan has also given his word to provide all the educational expense of two girls. The classes will be started from July this year.
