Amitabh Bachchan Received Legion d'Honneur, the Highest Civilian Award of France

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachcha has been awarded Legion d'Honneur, the highest civilian award of France. This great has been acted about 140 years in his acting career. He has taken the award from Dominique Girard, France ambassador to India. Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek Bachchan, a Bollywood star, and her would-be daughter in law famous actress Aishwarya Rai was present at that moment. Daily India reported:

DELHI, India, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- The French government honored Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan with France's highest civilian honor, the Legion d'Honneur.

Fench Ambassador to India Dominique Girard said the award was to recognize the "quality and height of his achievement" of the Indian star, The BBC said. The award was presented at an event in the French embassy in New Delhi Saturday.

Receiving the award "fills me with great pride," Bachchan said. "It's not just an award for me, it's the recognition of the achievement of the Indian cinema. It's an award for the entire film industry."

Indian film director Satyajit Ray and sitar giant Ravi Shankar also have received the Legion d'Honneur.

Through this award both the whole India has been honored. This is an international recognition of Bollywoo too. I hope Indian and French film industry now may build a bridge between them and presents some excellent works for the fans.

Amitabh to be Appeared in the English Film of Rituparno Ghosh

Bollywood super star Big B named, Amitabh Bachchan, is going to be appeared in the next film of famous director Rituparno Ghosh. The film is expected to be an English movie and through this movie, Amitabh, for the first time will star in a full length English movie. Indiafm reported:

According to Ghosh, Bachchan will play an old but passionate, fading Shakespearean actor. He is planning to start this film in February. While this will be Amitabh Bachchan’s first full fledge English film, it can be recalled that Big B’s Black also was largely in English.

It is nice to hear that two big names will be paired in the same movie. So, expectation of people will, for sure, be reach at the sky. Now, it is yet to see to what extent Amitabh and Rituparno can live up to the expectation of the people.

Ranvir Shorey to be Seen Playing against Madhuri Dixit in a Yash Raj’s Production

Ranvir Shorey is not an established actor in Bollywood. However, he has already got the mark of a promising actor. Though initially he came into light as a VJ star, now he is showing his acting talent in the industry. Recently he has been reported for acting against legendary actress Madhuri Dixit in a movie of Yash Raj production. The movie named Aaja Nachaley directed by Anil Mehta. Indiafm reported:

This is Madhuri’s comeback movie where she plays a theatre artist, while Ranvir and Konkana will play a part of her group. It is believed that he is playing a guy who is madly in love with Madhuri.

When contacted Ranvir confirmed that he is a part of Anil Mehta’s Aaja Nachaley but he was reluctant to talk about his role in the film.

His forthcoming releases include Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Traffic Signal, and Reema Kagti’s Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd.

It is a dream for an actor like Ranvir to get chance to play a role against Madhuri Dixit and if the movie is of Yash Raj Film’s production then the actor, of course, is going towards the sky. However, time will say if Ranvir will use the best out of the chance.

Shah Rukh to Start His Assignment in “Kaun Banega Crorepati”

The famous Indian television show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (Who Wants to be a Millionaire) is going to be started again very soon with its new presenter bollywod star Shah Rukh Khan. The show became a mega event over the India with the stylish presenter and Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachcan. However, the program was stopped due to the illness of Big B. This time Shah Rukh Khan has been offered the job and he has also accepted the proposal. Now it is million dollar question whether King Khan can continue the success of Amitabh Bachchan. I am quoting some lines regarding this news from a Herald Tribune report:

When I first met Mr. Bachchan I was overwhelmed. I felt I was standing in front of the Lord Almighty," said Prasenjit Sarkar, who was the last contestant on the previous season of the show and will be the first one when the program's new season debuts on Monday.

The first episode was filmed recently, and Sarkar said Khan, 41, is an energetic host who instantly puts participants at ease.

"He comes across like a good friend," Sarkar said in a telephone interview Thursday. "He is a big Bollywood star but he can make friends with a common man."

I am not sure about the success of King Khan but it is true that both Amitabh and Shah Rukh have already been the legend in Bollywood and there will have a hidden competition between the two stars.

Randeep Hooda is not a popular actor in India. Recently his fourth film Risk was released and he was praised for plying the role of a cop. Shah Rukh Coming with Popular Television Show Kaun Banega Crorrepati Tonight

Shah Rukh Khan’s new job as a host of popular television show ‘Kaun Banega Crorrepati’ will be on air tonight. With the show Shah Rukh himself said that he is nervous. This popular show was previously hosted by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan but the show stopped about 15 month ago due to the illness of Big B. Shah Rukh Khan will start with the last contestants of the last episode, Prasenjit Sarkar. Shah talked about his feelings regarding the show and the craze of the show and about the first contestant of his show Prasenjit Sarkar. I am quoting some lines from her speech regarding the show published in a moneycontrol report:

"I'm normally nervous on Fridays, but now I'm nervous on Mondays because of KBC."

"I don't know what I've done on the show. I just hope that once the show is out, people see the show and enjoy it on their own. I don't like saying it but I think it is an individual show which goes beyond the anchors."

The first contestant on the show's new season, Prasenjit Sarkar, holds the unique distinction of being the only person to be grilled by both Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The man in question, a rollover contestant, waited 15 long months to return to the hotseat after Bachchan's illness threw the show off-schedule. In his own inimitable style, Shah Rukh welcomed Sarkar back to the set and packed him off smiling.

Khan adds, "He won a good amount of money and he was happy he came in with his wife. He was happy that he could do the show with Mr Bachchan and then a little happy that he could do it with me also."

I think, Shah Rukh has the capability to be the best replacement of Amitabh Bachchan. With his humorous and hilarious acting and smart appearance, he attracted people many times in Bollywood movies. Though acting in a movie is far different from hosting a show as it needs to have the quality of making instant fun. Considering all the things I personally bet on him.

Kaun Banega Crorepati to be Aired Tonight with Its New Host Shah Rukh Khan

Popular television show in India, Kaun Banega Crorepati, is going to be started from tonight with its new host Bollywood Baadshah, Shah Rukh Khan. The show was stopped due to the illness of its previous host Big B Amitabh Bachchan, a legend of Bollywood. The contract between the show authority and Shah Rukh created much hymn and from then on, the country has eagerly looking forward to the show. On this regard, Shah Rukh has come up with some changes in the show in order to make the show more interesting to the audiences. Most of the changes will be seen in the language used by the host of the show. Indiafm reported:

In an attempt to be different from ex-host Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, SRK has changed the popular lingo of the show. Remember Bachchan’s catchphrase “Lock Kiya Jaye”? This will now be replaced with “Freeze Kiya Jaye”! Shah Rukh wants to ensure that, although the basic format of the quiz show is maintained, his individual style comes through evidently. So when the participant is asked if he is sure of the final answer, you can expect SRK to quip, “Kucchha Kucchha Pukka Pukka”. What’s more? If the contestant wants to change the question, SRK will request computerji for a “Palat”.

In Amitabh Bachchan’s KBC, those who wanted to quit would simply say “I Quit”. But Shah Rukh just made this deed a wee bit special for contestants, who will now have to say “Shah Rukh, main aapko galey lagana chahta hoon”. If nothing else, the players can be rest assured they will at least get a hug from the King Khan!

It is worthless to say that the show has a great attraction among the people and they are hoping to see the show in its own image. However, it cannot be assured that the show will definitely be going to make the same craze as it did last time because we all know that the taste of the people is ever changing.

Salman Khan to Star in the Debut Film of Prabhudeva

Prabhudeva is going to start his third innings in Bollywood. This time he will come on the scene as director. The movie will be a remake of a popular Telegu film “Pokhr” and this film will be produced by famous actor and producer Boney Kapoor. Prabhudeva was previously known as an actor and choreographer in Bollywood. Sallu nicknamed famous star Salman Khan will be seen as the protagonist in the movie. Regarding the movie Indiafm reported:

It is rumoured that the film is the highest priced for remaking rights of any south Indian film.

Another very interesting factor is that Ram Gopal Varma once wanted to remake this very film in Hindi with Mahesh Babu (the protagonist in the original version).Ramu had even arranged for a special screening for none other than the Big B who very much enjoyed the film and wanted Abhishek to be cast as the leading man in the film.But unfortunately things didn’t workout and the films rights were eventually bought by Boney Kapoor.

I think, though the movie created a boom in the south Indian film industry, it can not give the assurance of its box office success in Bollywood as many of this kind of attempts was seen going in vain. However, if the story can attract the audience and Salman can show some of his masterpieces, the movie can go on the way it did in Telegy film industry.

Shah Rukh Khan, the Baadshah of Bollywood, is also the Baadshah in Paying Tax

Shah Rukh Khan, the Bolywood “Baadshah” is now also the Baadshah in terms of paying tax among the Bollywood stars. He has been reported to be the most honest tax payer of Bollywood. However, earlier tax officials searched his house and office several times.

Financialexpress reported:

“Shah Rukh Khan is the "Baadshah " of income yax returns, being arguably the highest income tax payer in Bollywood. He once had a bad tryst with income tax officials. The story has its genesis in the year 1996, when just a few months after the taxmen had publicly felicitated him for being one of the few honest taxpayers of the film industry, the same taxmen knocked at his doors - for a search operation armed with warrant authorizations

Income Tax officers searched the residence-cum-office of SRK under warrant of authorization dated 17.12.1996 on 18.12.1996 and continued till 19.12.1996. Certain papers, files and two locker keys were seized under Panchanama . Thereafter two warrants of authorization were issued on 23.12.1996 with regard to each of the lockers for which the keys were seized on 19.12.1996. One locker was found empty whereas from the other locker jewellery worth Rs. 6.99 lakhs was found and inventorised under Panchanama dated 23.12.2006.

The last of the authorizations issued in the case of SRK dated 23.12.1996 was executed on that day itself. The assessment was required to be concluded within one year from the end of the month in which last of the authorizations were executed. Meaning thereby that as per the provision of section 158BE the assessment was required to be completed by 31st December 1997. Hence the assessment order passed u/s.158BC on 23.01.1998 was barred by time limitation and therefore quashed.”

It is good news for Indian government that the top actor of Bollywood is paying his tax regularly and having seen Shah Rukh Khan’s being honest to the government will inspire the other celebrities to pay their tax in time. Well done Bollywood Baadshah!

Akshaye Khanna Rejected Having Any Relation between His Character Shiven and a Real Life

In the upcoming movie Salaam E Ishwq directed by Nikhil Advani, Akshaye Khanna has played a pivotal role of Shiven against the dashing actress Ayesha Takia. Shiven is a bachelor and can not take the decision over his marriage with his loving person Gia. Ayesha Takia played the role of Gia. At the end, Shiven realizes that Gia is the perfect girl to be her life partner. Akshaye has been impressed with the movie and his role in the movie. However, he rejected having any relation between real life and the character of Shiven. The Monstrstandcritics reported:

I really liked the way the character evolved in the film. I instantly said yes when Nikhil Advani narrated the script to me,' said Akshaye.

'It has interesting shades. As far as the inspiration behind this character goes, you can ask Nikhil. I think it resembles a friend of Nikhil's more,' he added.

It seems that Akshaye will be seen playing an interesting role in the movie Salaam E Ishq. The character seems to be real though he has rejected the claim of having any relation between a cinematic character and real character.

Abhishek Bachchan, one of the top five Bollywood actors of this year, is gradually showing his acting talent with time being. This talented and skilled actor of new generation is now in a good position in Bollywood. One needs skill to present four consecutive hit movies in a year which he did in 2005. Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, Dus and Bluffmaster was successful in the box office in which Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar was special not only for his career but also for the industry as well. For these four movies he got a prestigious award of CNN-IBN Entertainer of the Year-2005.

It is true that he has started his career under the shadow of his celebrity parents and the expectation of people was high on him which was not easy to handle earlier. In addition, critics were also active questioning his acting skill and it was a common rumor that it is only his parents and specially his father fro whom he is getting chance in the movies of high profile directors. However, movie is one kind of art and here it is not possible to survive for a long time just depending on somebody else if one has no potential. When Amitabh was in domoinant position in Bollywood the time and situation was very different that that of present time. So, it is totally something baseless to compare Abhishek with his father Amitabh.

At the beginning of 2007 his another high profile movie Guru with Aishwarya Rai, a leading actress in Bollywood. He will be starred in Sarkar 2, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Dorna, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Chudiyan, Delhi 6 and Dhoom 3. This year he has been elected as the Sexiest Asian Man of the year 2006 by Britain's most popular Asian newspaper, Eastern Eye.

There is a rumor in Bollywood that Abhishek is going to marry Aishwarya Rai. Though there is not any strong base of such news but both of them are seen to have a good relation. If you talk about Bollywood or any film industry or any star, you should know that anything can happen anytime.

I think though Abhishek could start to be known by his own talent rather his parents, he has to go a long way to make a distinct place for is in Bollywood. For sure, he has that ability to flourish his potential in order to see himself in a dominant position in Bollywood.

As a result, the movie was a great success and every body turned their attention to this new comer; Ajay Devgan. For his performance in Phool aur Kaante, Ajay received Filmfare best Debut award. For next couple of years, Ajay mainly did action films. In 1998, his career started to take a different turn. Zakham a movie on religious conflicts in India established Ajay as a versatile actor. In this movie, he played the role of a singer who is caught in the political tension. For his performance in this movie, Ajay received Film Fare Best Actor Award. Ajay also tried his luck in romantic films and he was successful as well. Ishq and Pyar to Hona Hi Tha did great business in the box office. With his brilliant performance, determination, and hard work, Ajay, the once rough and tough action hero, turned himself into a versatile actor of Bollywood.

It is luck that turned Rajni Kanth, a bus conductor into South Indian superstar; a clerk in a shipping firm into one of the greatest actors of Hindi cinema, Amitabh Bachchan; and a cute looking boy, Arjun Rampal, into supermodel, who later turned into actor. Govinda

Born in Virar, Maharashtra, Govind Arun Ahuja, is popularly known as Govinda. Coming from a middle class family, Govinda joined film in the late 1980’s. His first movie, Ilzaam, was released in 1986. Govinda in the beginning focused more on his dancing skills and established himself as a dancing actor. His first success came in 1988. The movie Hatya, directed by his brother Kirti Kumar, was a big success and Govinda came to lime light. Govinda then worked with David Dhawan. This pair did many successful films: Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No. 1, Deewana Mastana, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Haseena Maan Jaayegi. In 2000, he did a negative role in the movie Shikari with Karisma Kapoor and Tabboo but that movie was not very successful. Till now, Govinda has done over 120 Hindi movies. In 2004, Govinda joined politics.

Salman Khan

He is known as “Bollywood’s Bad Boy.” Salman Khan is a figure who loved by lots of people and equally hated by lot. Several times he made it to the headlines of newspapers for getting into trouble. Still, he is one of the most good looking and talented actors of Bollywood. It is he who started the trend of fitness among actors. Born to Salim Khan, a famous screen writer, Salman got his first movie in 1988 Biwi Ho To Aisi. In that movie, he played a supporting role. His big break came in 1989. Maine Pyar Kiya, produced by Rajshri Productions was one of the highest grossing Hindi films. It was Salman’s first movie as a lead character. For his performance in Maine Pyar Kiya, he received Film Fare Best Debut Award. In 1994, again he did Hum Apke Hai Kaun with Rajshri Productions and this movie was a block buster. Hum Apke Hai Kaun is one of the all time highest grossing films in Bollywood. Some of his major hit films are: Saajan, Sanam Bewafa, Karan Arjun, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kiya, and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Amir Khan

The 90’s Bollywood is the history of the three Khans: Shahrukh, Salman and Amir. Like Abhishek, Ajay, Salman, Amir was born to a film family. He appeared in movie as a child artiste in Yaadon Ki Baraat in 1973. Then at the age of 23, he appeared in his first movie Qayamat se Qayamat Tak. The film was directed by his uncle, Nasir Hussain. The film was a big hit and turned Amir into a major heart throb. Since then, he did not have to look back. Movies like Dil, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Andaz Apna Apna, Rangeela, Raja Hindustani, Ishq, Ghulam, Sarfarosh turned Amir into a top actor of Bollywood. As a producer, his first film Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, was the highest grossing film of 2001. The movie was even got nomination for Oscar’s best Foreign Language film.

Sanjay Dutt

Since they share the same fate, Salman and Sanjay are very good friends. Son of legendary film actor Sunil Dutt and Nargis, Sanjay Dutt had it all but misfortune always hunted him down. If Salman is the “Bad Boy of Bollywood” Sanjay Dutt is the “Original Bad Boy of Bollywood.” However, for some unknown reason, he always got great love and support from people. Sanjay Dutt started his film career in 1981. His debut film Rocky was a hit but it did not help him that much. People call him Emraan KissMe!! Or Serial Kisser!!! How people change his name it does not matter, Emraan has already proved himself as an able actor. His debut film Footpath was released in 2003. The movie did not do well in box office. After Footpath, he did Murder in 2004. In this movie, he appeared in many kissing scene with his costar, Mallika Sherawat. The movie was successful and turned Hashmi and Mallika into Bollywood stars. Although Hashmi did lots of kissing but that does not mean that he lacked acting skills. In movies like: Dil Diya Hai, The Killer, Gangster, Aksar, Jawani Diwani: A Youthful Joyride, Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets, Kalyug, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Zeher, Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Murder Emraan proved his acting talent.

Neighbors of Bollywood celebrities

Suppose, you live in USA and you have a house where famous celebrities of Hollywood like: Sandra bullock, Leonardo dicaprio, Al pacino, and Steven spielberg live. Would you not feel proud of yourself and tell your friends about your neighbors. Certainly!! However, being a celebrity neighbor is not so great all the time. If you go through the gossips of Hollywood celebrities, you would see that a large number of stories are about problems between the celebrities and their neighbors. The celebrities’ lavish lifestyle and popularity often becomes a major headache for people who live around them. For example, Natasha Lyonne, the actress of American Pie was charged as she threatened her neighbor that she would sexually molest her dog. Another Hollywood actor, Christian Slater (Broken Arrow), fell down from the roof of Paris Hilton’s neighbor’s house. He was spying upon the neighbors who were having a weekend party. If you browse the Hollywood blogs and news websites, you can find hundreds of such old and new stories.

Since this blog is about Bollywood, let us talk about the Bollywood celebrities. Do the neighbors of Bollywood celebrities share the same fate of those of the Hollywood celebrities? OFCOURSE!!!! we are talking about Bollywood celebrities; people who belong to the second largest film industry of the world after Hollywood. Some times mischievous behavior, popularity, life style of the celebrities’ become a major headache for his/her neighbors. Rani Mukherjee, the famous Hindi movie actress gets complain from her neighbors that she and her family frequently block the general elevator for their personal use. Shakti kapoor was once sighted roaming around almost naked in his Juhu beach residence. He even pissed in side the lift shaft.

Everybody knows about the famous Aishwarya and Salman affair. Salman getting drunk went to Rai’s Lokhandwala residence and shout at her at the middle of the night and woke up the neighbors. Now, Aishwarya’s present residence is heavily guarded by security guards. Rai’s neighbor, Sachin Tendulkar, also has security guards. Very often, these people were seen lying around wearing indecent shorts. The residents of the surrounding area made a complaint about this.

Last year, another popular Hindi movie actor, Aditya Pancholi, made it to the news for cracking his neighbor’s nose. The actor’s guest parked his car in a reserved parking area allotted for Aditya’s neighbor, Pratik Niraj Pasrani. When Pratik told the watchmen to remove the car, Aditya punched him.

Many Indians would dream to live beside Hindi movie actor Amitabh Bachchan but it is also problematic. The present neighbors of Amitabh are very unhappy with the renovation works going inside his office. The work goes on till late night and there is lots of noise. Some residents even complained to the police about this but it did not change the situation.

I am talking about only film personnel but there are other people who are equally popular like actors and actresses. The neighbors of political personalities also face these kinds of problems. Sometimes they can not even complain the about the person because he is an influential political figure. In most of the cases on has to handle this situation amicably with poise.

So what we learnt from the above discussion is that no matter what kind film industry, Bollywood or Hollywood, it does not matter. Neighbors of celebrities frequently have serious problems.
