Deepika Padukone, Rishi Kapoor in Saif Ali Khan’s First Production

Saif Ali Khan is going to produce his first film, to be directed by Imtiaz Ali (of Jab We Met). Director Imtiaz Ali already offered Deepika Padukone and Rishi Kapoor for this movie. Though Saif was reportedly interested to cast his love interest Kareena Kapoor, it was Imtiaz who insisted to take Deepika opposite Saif Ali Khan. Deepika Padukone has recently confirmed that she was going to working with Rishi Kapoor, father of Deepika’s boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Deepika Padukone got into lime light with her debut film Om Shanti Om last year.

She is currently filming for Yash Raj Films’ Bachna Ae Haseenon opposite her real life love interest Ranbir Kapoor, Nikhil Advani's “Chandni Chowk To China” opposite Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s next project IPirates. Deepika has reportedly signed for the directorial of Sajid Khan with the co-stars like Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.

Dharmendra, Rishi Kapoor Awarded at the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images' (MAMI) 10th Festival

Recently, the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images' (MAMI) 10^th Festival was held in Mumbai. The eight-day long ceremony was held from 6 March to 13 March. The festival awarded Bollywood actor Dharmendra the Lifetime Achievement award, while another legendary actor Rishi Kapoor was lauded for his contribution to cinema for over 35 years. Lyricist-filmmaker Gulzar received an award for his significant contribution to Indian Film Music. Famous Spanish Filmmaker, Carlos Saura, was awarded the first Global Lifetime Achievement award. The festival was chaired by Shyam Benegal and the other guests who gave away the awards were legendary actor Dev Anand, senior filmmaker Yash Chopra and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The film festival showed 140 films from 45 countries. This year, China was the country in focus, while Carlos Saura was the filmmaker in focus.

Acknowleding the award, Kapoor said: ''Usually film industry personalities do not reveal their age, but I want to say that I have not been working for 25 years - I have been working for 35 years and I am proud of that.''

The chief guest of the event, evergreen Bollywood star Dev Anand, senior filmmaker Yash Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Shyam Benegal gave away the awards.

In a new concept called Dimensions Mumbai, five-minute films based on different aspects of Mumbai were showcased by aspiring filmmakers under 25 years of age. A total of 82 entries had been received for this section.

In the Indian feature film competition, Darsheel Safary was awarded for playing the dyslexic child Ishaan Awasthi in Taare Zameen Par, Swathee Sen for playing Janki in Antardwand while both the best film and International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) awards were bagged by the Marathi film Tingya by Mangesh Hadawale on the delicate issue of farmers' suicides.

The winners of the Dimensions Mumbai section, the competition of five-minute films, were awarded by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. This award was sponsored by Aishwarya’s mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan.

Deepika Padukone and Rishi Kapoor together in Imtiaz Ali’s Next Movie

Bollywood’s emerging star Deepika Padukone is going to star in a film which also includes Rishi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The Bollywood damsel has recently confirmed that she will be seen with legendary figure Rishi Kapoor, the father of her current love interest Ranbir Kapoor. The actress has been full praise about Ranbir parents. She has also said that she has so much to learn from Rishi Kapoor. About Ranbir’s mother Neetu Singh/Kapoor, Deepika has been a bit more effusive. The movie will be produced by Saif Ali Khan and directed by Jab We Met famed Imtiaz Ali.
