Akshay Kumar in Bhagam Bhag

Akshay Kumar is mainly known as an action hero. He is sometimes compared with Bruce Lee. However, he is also successful in comedies. It will be interesting to see how he performs in Bhagam Bhag. The main thing to note in this film is that how Akshay can make himself bright beside king of comedy Govinda. Govinda is perhaps the most successful comedy hero in the last one decade.

Bhagam Bhag: A Comedy

In the last 2-3 months, we have seen some successful movies in Bollywood. Don, Dhoom 2 had huge success in the box office. Well, we now have a serious movie like Kabul Express. What many of us would want to see was a comedy. Who can be better than Govinda when it comes to comedy? So, Bhagam Bhag has perhaps come at the right time- after all the action, fighting, romance.

About the story of the movie, I am quoting here from Wikipedia:

Champak Chaturved (Paresh Rawal) has a theatre group in India and he performs shows all over the country. Bunty (Akshay Kumar) and Babla (Govinda) along with others are actors in the group. Both are very naughty natured guys who never miss any chance to flirt with girls, even the girls in the group. At the completion of one show, an organizer offers Champak's group to perform 30 shows in England. They all get very excited but as per the contract they need to leave for England on the same day. Unfortunately the heroine of the play opts out due to Bunty's misbehavior.

They reach London and through Gullu (Rajpal Yadav), a taxi driver, Babla and Bunty try to find a girl for their play but it leads to many misunderstandings and a series of funny sequences. In this process, Babla and Bunty fall into trouble involving a drug baron and other mishaps.

Thereafter, the trio discovers a girl Minni (Lara Dutta), who suffers from amnesia to act in their drama and just as Bunty and Minni fall in love, her memory returns and it brings chaos into their lives, including a murdered husband!

From here the story leads to its climax in which a major conspiracy gets exposed.

The story seems funny enough to me. I just wish that Govinda and Akshay Kumar can make it successful. A lot depends on how they perform in this movie. So, find out, you have to wait for a few days.

Happy Birthday to Govinda

Govinda is celebrating his 43rd birthday today (21 December). He was born on December 21, 1963 in Virar, Maharashtra. I am not a big fan of Govinda and it is a reality that Govinda failed to impress the people in a grand scale. However, he is a very hard working actor and skilled too. He looks very natural in his movies. He is extremely natural in comedy movies and in the comedy movies; he built a solid position for himself.

In this birthday, I think that Govinda will be anxious about the performance of Bhagam Bhag in the box office. If it is successful then it will boost his career. Otherwise, the prospects look bleak for Govinda.

I like to see him continue acting and making a strong comeback in Bollywood. Bollywood really needs a skilled actor like him now.

Bhagam Bhag: A big Challenge for Govinda

These days, Govinda is more of a politician than of an actor. For example, he had hardly any movie released after he became an MP. Bhagam Bhag is going to be a major challenge for Govinda. It is like a comeback movie for this 43 year old actor. If it becomes successful then Govinda will have something to look forward too.

In the last few years, Govinda did not have any significant success in the box office. Of course, he did not fail to impress the critics with his excellent acting. However, poor performance of his movies in the box office has seriously led a question: are the days of Govinda going to be numbered in Bollywood? That is why too much is at stake for Govinda with Bhagam Bhag.
