Goga Kapoor passed away at the age of 70

Famous character actor of Bollywood, Ravinder Kapoor, popularly known as Goga Kapoor, passed away today. The actor was 70 years old. The actor left behind his wife and three daughters.

It was a natural death. His fellow actor, Gajendra Chauhan, said "He was ailing for nearly six months. It was a natural death. He leaves behind his wife and three daughters. His youngest daughter Payal is an actor. He was one of the most active committee member of Cine Artistes Association."

Goga Kapoor started his acting carrier in theatres. In his early years, he worked in many English plays and once he also played a role opposite Amitabh Bachchan in one play. Initially, he did not find any work in Hindi movies and turned to theatres but soon his acting talent got recognized. In 1971, he did his first Hindi movie, Jwala. In the movie, he had a strong but crucial role.

Goga Kapoor then got many offers in regional movies. At one point he stopped working and after two years came back to Bollywood with Ek Kunwara Ek Kunwari. In the movie, he again played a negative role. Eventually, he played negative characters in many movies and became widely recognized as a villain in the movies in the 70s and 80s.

Some of his notable movies are Zanjeer (1973), Muqaddar Ka Sikander (1978), Mr. Natwarlal (1979), Dostana (1980), Shaan (1980), Lawaris (1981), Satte Pe Satta (1982), Coolie (1983), Mard (1985) etc.

His last movie was Darwaaza Bandh Rakho. He was rumored to be playing a small in Karan Johar’s remake of Agneepath.
