IIFA Awards 2010: Why Tamil stars will not join in Colombo?

India’s most prestigious award, International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), is going to be held in Colombo. It is going to be the 11th annual awards ceremony this year. This three-day event will start from June 3 to 5 this year. Top Bollywood stars would attend in this glittering event. This event will be held in Colombo's biggest sports stadium. Organizers expect that 500 guests will attend and it will be watched by 600 million TV viewers in 110 countries.

Legend Bollywood actor, Amitabh Bachchan, is the brand ambassador of IIFA. He has already reached in Colombo to make awareness about the event. He was given the highest honor from Sri Lankan President. All top Tamil actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan and Vijay have been invited to take part in IIFA. But they have denied it due to some reasons including politics.

In IIFA awards, Mani Ratnam’s Raavan will have its world premier. However, I am not sure whether it is true or not because I got this information from unconfirmed reports.
