Salman Khan attends Pride of Nation Award to promote his movie Veer

On January 19 2010, Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan, attended the ‘Pride of Nation Award’ ceremony at a packed FICCI Auditorium. He was invited by the All-India Anti-Terrorist Front chairman, M. S. Bitta. In the show, Salman spread the word of patriotism through Veer and also honored awards to several awardees. He presented swords to parents of Delhi police officer late M.C. Sharma; Rukhsana Kauser; Kuldeep Singh; Anuradha Gautam; wife of ANI cameraman Vikram Bisht; wife of late Sanjiv Suri and wife of Hindustan Times photographer Pradeep Bhatia. In the function, Salman told reporters:

“To be a brave heart you don’t have to ride a horse and brandish a gleaming sword to frighten the adversary. Some might think it is masochistic to indulge in fisticuffs. All this is nonsense; Generation X must maintain their cool even against greatest provocation. But when it comes to saving an innocent person you shouldn’t think twice before endangering your life,”

Salman Khan’s Veer, is a historical action movie that will be released in theaters on January 22. The movie tells the story of a courageous Indian warrior tribe called the Pindharis and Salman plays the role of the most courageous warrior of the tribe named Veer. In the movie, Salman is paired up with Katrina Kaif look alike Zarine Khan.
