Thai movie makers are showing interest in Bollywood

This year, some notable Thai movie makers attended the 40th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). These movie makers showed great interest in Bollywood. They think that collaborating with Bollywood would be very beneficial to the struggling Thai cinema industry. Famous Thai director, Nonzee Nimibutr, and Thai writer, producer, and director, Yongykoot Thongtongtoon, said that they were very much open to the idea of collaborating with the Indian film industry to expand their audience. They also said that Bollywood movies are very much popular in Thailand and earlier Indian movies were screened in Thailand. Galatta.com reports:

Both Nimibutr and Thongtongtoon are open to the idea of collaborating with an Indian film team to expand their audiences as "Indian films are very popular in Thailand.during our childhood, there were more Indian films being screened in Thailand than now. We will include more Indian films in our festival next year," they said.
Unfortunately, the Thai movie industry has been struggling for a long time because of poor government support and the country’s internal political struggle. There are many talented movie makers in Thailand and they are looking forward to make quality movies for the audience. So, now they are planning to work with Bollywood to extend their audience and improve the condition of Thai cinema industry.
