Rani Mukherjee as Veer Pratap Singh in Dil Bole Hadippa

In her upcoming movie Dil Bole Hadippa, actress Rani Mukherjee will be playing the role of a Sadarji. Yes, you heard it right and pictures of Rani dressed like Punjabi Sardar is already out and spreading over the Internet. There are not many actresses that played the role of a Punjabi male. I remember Parveen Babi played Sardarji in 1982 action movie Samraat. In recent times, Akshay and Saif tested success playing Sardarji roles. Now, it is Rani Mukherjee’s turn. Indian Express reports:

Now, Rani's look in the film has been revealed. The image shows Rani as a Sardarji, Wielding a stick in hand! If the rumors are to be believed, then, her look has been styled by none other than Mike Stringer, a very famous name in UK, who has worked on films like ‘Dhoom 2’, ‘Gandhi My Father’ and Hollywood hits like ‘Flick’, ‘Outpost’, ‘Hyperdrive’ etc.

Rani plays the character of Veera Kaur, a small village girl with big dreams. She works in a local theatre but she dreams to play in the National Indian cricket team. A die hard cricket fan, Veera Kaur finally gets her chance to play when Rohan (Shahid Kapoor), captain of a successful county team comes to India to salvage his father’s losing cricket team. Dressed as Veer Pratap Singh, Rani makes her place in Rohan’s team and from there the two gradually comes close to each other.
