Bollywood Producer-Director Prakash Mehra Died

Bollywood’s famous director and producer Prakash Mehra left his last breath today (17 May 2009) in a hospital where he was hospitalized few days back. He was suffering from pneumonia, and besides this, a number of organ failure was another reason of his death. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was brought into limelight by Prakash Mehra through his box office hit Zanjeer.


The news of his illness came to the media when Amitabh Bachchan visited Prakash Mehra in the hospital couple of weeks back. Mehra and Amitabh brought about some big hits in 1970s and 1980s including Muqaddar Ka Sikander, Laawaris, Namak Halal, Sharabi, Hera Pheri and Zanjeer, but the duo’s last movie Jadugar in 1989 failed in the box office. We pay our tribute to Prakash Mehra and pray for the heavenly peace for his departed soul.
