Rani Mukherjee in Laga Chunari Mein Daag

Laga Chunari Mein Daag director Pradeep Sarkar has refuted the rumors about the cold war between Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee, the lead actor and actress of the movie. In a press conference he clarified the rumors. DNA reports:

Ask him about the alleged cold war between the film’s leading stars, Abhishek and Rani, and Sarkar is quick to dismiss the rumours. “There was no tension at all between Rani and Abhishek. I don’t know where these rumours originate from. Contrary to what is being said about there being cold vibes on the sets due to Aishwarya’s (Rai) presence, she was in fact a big help to me.

Aishwarya was always ready with an input or two, or even helping out to get things ready for the shoot.” Incidentally, the film, which also stars Kunal Kohli, Jaya Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Konkona Sen Sharma is slated to release next week.

When asked if he was angry on Vidya Balan’s refusal he replied that he was not angry at all. Pradeep Sarkar gave Vidya Balan her first big break in Parineeta. Vidya was supposed to play the role of Konkona Sen in Laga Chunari Mein Daag but due to date problems, she could not do the role. However, Pradeep was not angry about it. He seemed very happy about Konkona’s performance in the movie.

Pradeep also denied about the cold relationship between Aishwarya Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee. He said that Aishwarya did come to the set but she was a great help in many ways.

When asked about his break up with Vidhu Vinod Chopra he said that he was approached by Aditya Chopra to direct the movie and he liked the script; moreover, he did not want to miss the opportunity to work with Yash Raj Films.
