Aishwarya Rai to Be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan?

One the most talked news of India is now the upcoming marriage of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. The marriage is scheduled to take place on 20th April, 2007. Like many other question regarding the marriage, one prime question is that if Aishwarya Rai will change her name after the marriage as in India it is a common custom to change the bride’s family title into the groom’s family title. If it happens then it is as usual for Aishwarya Rai to become Aishwarya Bachchan. However, there is news that Aishwarya Rai is more likely to be called as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The most interesting thing is that Amitabh Bachchan’s father was known as Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Apunkachoice reported:

It would be a remarkable coincidence. We all know that Big B’s father was fondly called Harivansh Rai Bachchan by his admirers.

Amitabh, who loves his deceased father immensely, would indeed be pleased if Ash opts to use both the sir-names after her marriage to Abhishek in the coming weeks. Then she would be called Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The name would constantly remind Big B of his father and will also be a humble tribute to the man who penned poetic works like Madhushala.

However, Big B has reportedly laid no conditions regarding Ash’s name. She is free to choose any second name. But sources close to Ash are quoted as saying that she wishes to be called Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after her marriage.

I think that Aishwarya Rai will also follow the Indian custom and change her name after her marriage to Abhishek Bachchan. Now, it is yet to see what sir name she will take having married to Jr. Bachchan.
