Sanjay Leela Bhansali Directing an Opera Show in France

By: Biplob Kishore Deb

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been offered to go to France in order to direct an Opera show. There are not many people who got this chance before from Bollywood. So, undoubtedly,

he is very much proud of being invited and has already decided to go there in January. The show is based on a writing of a French writer of 1920. I am quoting some lines from a Indiafm article:

Bhansali feels honored by getting such an offer. Though flattered, Sanjay was unsure whether he would take up the offer as stage is a completely different medium altogether. But he is glad that he has agreed to do it. As far as his films go, Bhansali says that his movie schedules won’t get affected by this. He will be in Paris between January to March of 2008. When the opera goes on stage in March, he’ll return back.

Currently, Bhansali is working on Saawariya starring debutants Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. The film also stars Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee.

Sanjay got world wide recognition for his great movie Devdas starred by Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit released in 2002.

This invitation is a matter of honor for not only Sanjay himself rather for Bollywood too. I hope he will successful in France as well.
