Brian Lara Looking to India-West Indies World Cup Final

Brian Lara, legendary criekter and West Indies captain, recently expressed his desire to see India-West Indies final in the coming world cup 2007 in West Indies. As a host nation West Indies is favorite but for India, they are not in good pace in the recent ODI tournaments. Since the tri series in Malaysia, they have gone through some unsuccessful attempts such as in ICC Champions Trophy, ODI series in South Africa. The International News quoted Brian Lara:

“One cannot expect a better final than one with India and West Indies. It becomes all the more special since over 50 percent of the people in the Carribean are Indians,” he said during an interactive session on leadership here on Thursday.

India and West Indies have been playing so much of cricket for the past 8-10 months and it is very likely that both teams will reach the finals of the World Cup to be held in my country,” the legendary southpaw added.

West Indies is now touring India. Though West Indies lost the last two matches in the four match ODI series against India, India needs to show their best to prove Brian Lara true.
