Big B will be awarded France's highest civil award: Officier de la Legion d'Honneur

For his contribution in the Indian film industry and to international culture, Amitabh Bachchan will be awarded the highest civilian award of France. The award giving ceremony would be held in New Delhi. I am quoting from the report published in Apun Ka Choice:

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan will be given France’s highest civilian award in New Delhi on January 27.

The Big B will be coming to the capital city along with wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan and his fiancée Aishwarya Rai.

At the event, to be held at the French Embassy in the diplomatic area, Mr. Bachchan will be bestowed with the Officier de la Legion d'Honneur (Officer of the Legion of Honour).

The announcement of the award came last year on Mr. Bachchan’s birthday on October 11. He is being honoured “for his contribution to Indian and international cultural life.”

On the ceremony a French documentary, The March Of the Penguins’, will be screened. Amitabh Bachchan lent his voice in this documentary and it won Oscar.
Amitabh Bachchan is definitely one of the most famous actors in Bollywood. This award would be another great achievement for him and for India as well.
